I submitted a website I made to google about 1 week or 2 weeks ago and it still is not been picked up. I went into Google submit and did everything required for it and I have checked all the meta-tags to make sure that they are correct but the only thing been picked up is the original empty website but none of my pages I created.

Can anyone help?

It can take up to a month or so for Google to first index your site. Be patient and it will happen

Ok. What about my client? He won't pay me until it appears. I just uploaded a sitemap as well.

Then you have to wait to get paid, Google can't be rushed through their webmaster tools.

Another question. Can google loose your website? It was indexed almost instantly after I made it public, but now, after I saw this thread I google'd it and it's gone. What is up with that :\

That can happen for a few reasons, are all the pages in the site gone from the index?

I'm not sure what that means, but I used to be able to Google "Bertus Ras" and then my portfolio, www.bertusras.com would be the first result. Now I can't find it at all.

Ok. I just keep testing his site in the mean time.

The bertusras site is still in google. To try get back up to first result, try setting the meta description to include bertus ras.

@CesarePlay, unfortunately. You can try shortcut the process, post a link to the site on a google blog, no guarantees that that will work

Ok. I gone to the web tools for google submission and manually entered it along with a sitemap so it should start indexing better now.

there are pay-for SEO tools out there, but you're not doing yourself any favours and some engines may even blacklist the site for SEO abuse...

the google bot relies heavily on referrals when ranking a site... so, the more referrals you can get, the quicker you'll be spidered - the more varied the referrals, the more often the site will be spidered...

as RevQ says, make sure your tags are fine... many sites become "lost" because of issues in the tags...

Ok. I only registered it once with another company and then google itself. I have checked all the tags and they are correct. So now I will wait.

Who is the "other company"?
