Peugeot 206 audio fitment

Post by Jonboy »

Has anybody on the forum had additional audio components (6 by 9"s, 12 inch and amp) fitted to a Peugeot 206? If so, can anybody recommend a good audio fitment centre in Jhb, my car's only 4 months old and I want a proper job done.

Stay away from 6x9s.

Keep the rear speakers stock running of the HU and fit a decent split system, amp and a sub to the car.

I take it the 206 has a factory fitted HU?

It does indeed.

It came standard with 6" woofers in the front doors with a tweeter set as well. The player is a clarion with rcas out. The system gives decent sound, but my old car had that lovely over the top sound that I want back.

Cool. If the Clarion has RCA outs you have a very good base to start from.

What type of music do you listen to as this will have an impact on what range of speakers you fit.

Also. What is your budget?

I'm into dance music (I know) trance, hardstyle etc, as well as a bit of alternative rock. I dabble occasionally into pop and hop-hop lol. I currently have, in my possession, a close-to-brand-new boxed 12" Magnat subwoofer (the wattage fails me, could be 800), two pioneer 6" by 9"s and an 800W purple series Starsound, 4 channel amp. Looking at getting a new amp.

My budget with an amp, other accessories and fitment, cabling etc, should preferably not exceed R3000. Any clues?

That could work.

Skip the Pioneer 6x9s the amp should be good for 60-70W RMS per channel.

Install is around R1050 and wiring kit is R450

Leaves around R1400 for some nice splits.

Brands you can look at is Hertz, Kenwood, Alpine, DLS, Rockford, Lightning Audio and some others I can't remember now.

Awesome, want to go do some window shopping this weekend so will look out for those. In terms of decent installation outfits? Don't want the carpets ripped to hell and loose panels etc after the installation.

800W purple series Starsound
is that a chrome series? If it is I would get rid of it.
I'm getting some sound installed (as maxxis knows) and I'll post what I'm getting and the price.
DLS K6 6" Splits @ R760
Targa TG 485 4ch Amplifier @ R1280
DLS KW10 10" Sub @ R799
Labour R1600
Total R4500.
Budget: R4000
Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero :(

No, it's literally a big purple monster that was Starsounds staple before they brought out the chrome, gladiators etc. I've always been a Starsound fanbooi (call me patriotic), have never tried Targa though. Where are you getting your installation done? And on what car? I'm very weary of having my new car ruined.

The only place in JHB i would take my car to is Hygrade Audio in Mayfair. Speak to Solly.

Otherwise I would really recommend Kevin Paynter for Payntwagon Audio.

Tell you what.

I have a DLS CA41 amp, C6A splits and a KW10 sub in sealed, dynamatted & decron filled enclosure that im selling for R3800. Ill throw in the RCA cables and speaker wire and Kevin is willing to do the install so you maintain the warranty on the stuff.

Let me know if you are interested. It really is some of the best kit money can buy.

Cool man, thanks, I'm waiting for bonus time to get this whole ball rolling so if it's still available in Dec, I'll drop you PM'age.

Payntwagon sound incredibly porno :D ! There's a place in Mayfair called AutoStyle that I've bought from before, really like their shop. Is Hygrade around there?

have never tried Targa though.> Kevins recommendation. Major RMS per channel and 4 channels to boot. can power everything on 4Ohm and it's got active cooling.
Where are you getting your installation done? >Kevin
And on what car? >Camry
I'm very weary of having my new car ruined.> So am I so I'm not doing a self install. Don't trust my own hands.

maxxis also mentioned Kevin from Payntwagon Audio ( kills me everytime), or hygrade, mmmm.

Had my previous installations done by a place in Alberton called Xtreme Audio (fly-by-night, disappeared two weeks later) and A to Z audio. Both these places did a shocking job with my old golf and so I'm very weary of places that claim to be "audio specialists", so trying to find reputable guys who pride themselves on their brand and image.

It will do more than that. DLS speakers have the power to awaken things in you. I listened to Meatloaf - Objects in the rear view mirror last night and it just blew me away.

Ive owned the CD for about 15years and yesterday it moved me.

Brilliant stuff.
