Snow Leopard

So with leopard being less than fantastic, i am eagerly awaiting the Snow leopard update to the Mac OSx range.
Apparently it is going to have full exchange support (which if it works like the new iphone should be fantastic), Use openCL and with fingers crossed switch to the ZFS file system. If quiktime X is anything to go by, this should all be awesome!!!
If this comes right i can see mac making more of an imprint on the global market!!

Just got this article in my inbox about Snow Leopard - be careful of the "Guest" account.
Snow Leopard bug deletes all user data
Snow Leopard users have reported that they've lost all their personal data when they've logged into a "Guest" account after upgrading from Leopard, according to messages on Apple's support forum.
The bug, users said in a well-read thread on Apple's support forum, resets all settings on the Mac, resets all applications' settings and erases the contents of critical folders containing documents, photos and music.
The MacFixIt site first reported the problem more than a month ago.
Users claimed that they lost data when they'd logged into their Macs using a "Guest" account, either purposefully or by accident. Reports of the bug go back to Sept. 3, just six days after Apple launched Snow Leopard, or Mac OS X 10.6. Users who said they'd encountered the bug said that they had upgraded their systems from Mac OS X 10.5, known as Leopard.
Specifically, Snow Leopard's home directory -- the one sporting the name of the Mac's primary user -- is replaced with a new, empty copy after users log-in to a Guest account, log out, then log-in to their standard account. All the standard folders -- Documents, Downloads, Music, Picture and others -- are empty, while the Desktop and Dock have reverted to an "out-of-box" condition.

hmm, i meant that in its earlier stages, windows stole the macintosh os idea from old steve jobs...macintosh 1, in the days of lisa still.
it was a direct copy of the mac os, but changed to make it look like what microsoft wanted.
if u are struggling to believe me, then just google that history

i am having lots of bugs with snowey here...mega compatibility issues that leopard neva had...they had better get it working soon

I'd be surprised if Windows 7 did not get bigger market share than OS Snow Leopard in the PC industry quite frankly. The article is meaningless ...
Chowzen, what compatibility issues are you having? I actually had less with Snow than with Leopard ...

this is quite surprising to say the least. I thought the whole point of the Apple system is that there are NO compatibility issues because they do everything themselves? is it hardware or software incompatibility?

Err, @ beerman and Prime, the point is that prior to the release of 7, Apple was going on and on that people would rather switch to MAC OS than change to Windows 7. Yes Windows has a much bigger user base, and this is to be expected, but the meaning of the article is that it has bypassed Snow Leopard in only 2 weeks, whereas it took users how long to switch to Vista?

Ya, but think about that? you can't legally run Mac on a PC? So your point seems meaningless unless i am misunderstanding. How many mac users switched to windows 7? Or how many PC users went and bought macs instead?

GreyWolf, the issue is driver related. i work in a mac based office. most of them still run leopard, and im testing snow on my machine.. certain printers, issues with toast, scanners, all kinds of odd things. its mostly drivers that are incompatible and some versions of software that dont work anymore. more mainstream products like HP printers work fine.
also, i have experienced more firefox and OS crashes since the update.
