Trust me they taste like chicken, and if you watched star trek enterprise tv series, you would know they are indeed edible....

Killing a potential food supply doesn't seem very wise - now does it ? But then I can hardly expect you to think logically - you are a male I presume ?! By wiping out our species in one week, and warning us of your plan, you have given us enough time to eat all the edible food sources on the planet. Yes - some will have to volunteer to consume meat - but it is a noble sacrifice. By the time we die out - there will be no other food on this or nearby worlds for you. Any place a tribble is - will be desolate. All you will have to feast on are your regrets and your starving minions.
