The (Epic) Fail Thread

Post by Stuart »

Here is how it works.
  1. If another forumite does something that you consider to be remotely stupid, you may nominate that person for a fail.
  2. If another forumite does something that you consider to be highly stupid, you may nominate that person for an epic fail.
  3. If another forumite does something that you consider to be remotely intelligent, you may nominate that person for a win.
  4. If another forumite does something that you consider to be highly intelligent, you may nominate that person for an epic win.
  5. Minus points are given for (epic) fails, plus points are given for (epic) wins. Once nominated you make it onto the official list, and points are added/subtracted from your total as nominations by other members flow in.
  6. All nominations require a second by another member of the forum before the person nominated makes it onto the list. Seconds must be given within 24 hours or the nomination falls away.
  7. Administrators and moderators have the right to veto nominations, or to nominate without the need for a second, but they must make this clear in their post. If they do not state clearly that no second is needed, a second will still be required.
  8. You may appeal your nominations if you wish. All appeals will be taken to the Tribunal and decided there. Three votes from forumites must be given in order to have your appeal approved. Moderators and Administrators have the authority to approve appeals without second and third votes, should they decide to do so and make this clear in their post.
  9. Only members of the forum may be nominated for a fail/win, or an epic fail/win. Nominations for non-PCF members will be ignored.
  10. You may not nominate yourself for a fail/win, or an epic fail/win. All self-nominations make it to the Official Tard List. No second is needed to make it to this list. No points will be kept in the Official Tard List, only names will be listed.
  11. You may only nominate for a fail/win or epic fail/win. There is no such thing as semi-epic fail, or triple epic fail.
  12. Please understand that this is all in the name of fun. No one is trying to be vindictive (unless QBM posts here), so have a good laugh at yourself and then move on with life.
Here is how the point system will work:
  • Fail: -1 point
  • Epic Fail: -5 points
  • Win: +1 point
  • Epic Win: +5 points
  • Self-Nomination: Immediate addition to the Official Tard List
I will try to keep track and update the list, but feel free to PM me if I miss someone.

Right ... everyone get the idea?

I nominate M&B in Centurion for an Epic fail. Been there twice and both times they have had bad service, food has been wrong - and they wait until you finish your first beverage before they bring the food. This forces you to add a second.

Definitely. Sorry jeff... You. Fail :P

I'd like to nominate Killerbyte for running out of petrol. I think that that one should be an Epic fail though :P

Win points will go down as minus points to counteract fail points. So if we get a second for WiK1D, he'll have -1, but then if he gets nominated for an epic fail, he ends up with 4. You see? I'll put that in the rules.

Okay

Here are some things we can upload!

Patches be that for apps or games!

Game Cheats / Trainers / SaveGames

There are lots of things people want that we can share that is legal!

Lets think out side the box - there are some things we can not upload! IE: Movies, Cracked Games, Copy Right Applications!

I am not sure about Games for BackUP? but I am going to find out!

Regards
Admin

I nominate myself for a fail (not epic) for starting an XP install on a machine without partitioning it to the right sizes first.

Ah but you are asking about games for backup - according to law - you are not allowed to make copies of your own CDs for backup or safety reasons at all.

That's not really a fail as you can change partition sizes with software..

I'm pretty sure you can with your own legal games. It was discussed 1 year ago in the Piracy Thread. DJV and Rayne argued about it i think

I guess I could be in error. The last article I read said that it was illegal - that was a few months ago.
