Hire A Programmer -|- Just Source Code BlogDeja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
I got 4.9l/100km on a trip to a Durban to CT trip in a 1.4 tdi Polo a year ago. I had 3 days to get down there so I cruised at 100km/h all the way to see how economical I could be. Really good consumption but JEEEEEZZZ it was boring.
Through the Karoo I was sitting at 4.3 but the hills towards CT pushed the total up. Got 1090km from the tank before I filled up.
Around town the polo is about 5.6l/100km but with price of diesel atm I'm not sure I'm saving much over the slightly less frugal petrol polos.
My motorbike is getting exactly 4.0l/100km at the moment (nearly all town driving). With the best run of 3.1l/100km but that was a slow (constant 90km/h) ride of about 160km on the freeway.
Zaphrox - rotary's are always a bit heavy on juice (and oil for that matter). Beautiful car though

There are 10 types of people in this world.

That's the new SR which is R100k more then the 1l as above.Specifications
Would suit: Knee-jerk Toyota buyers.
Price: £13 495 (R197 500).
Performance: 193km/h, 0-100km/h 9.3 secs.
Combined fuel consumption: 7.2 litres/100km.

Oh and this is the official Toyota specs which will be optimistic.
Which brings me onto my next point.
What about a hybrid system in the yaris? It would need to be a smaller version then the Prius because of weight and size but essentially you would get down to about 4l. That's what we need.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.
Or has a problem putting it in 5th gear...KillerByte wrote:then who ever is driving it doesn't know how to use a gear box.muffinman wrote:LIES!!!!KillerByte wrote:what you talking about, the 1.0l Yaris can top 175, and the 1.3 hits 195. they aren't bad little cars but don't throw in a load and then expect to hit over 160Frozenfireside wrote:I want a car that does 6. My sister-in-law has the spirit. that thing can barely do 160km/h
I average 9.4l/100km in my polo 1.6 classic.

It is but that seems to be a VW car feature-fairly high fuel consumption.
My dads IS250 Lexus does 9.7l
I like the Yaris. I saw one in metallic orange today. It looks good.
We need more fuel saving orientated cars like the Yaris and 107.

I love cosplay - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc0aMeY5F_E - NOT!
I used to get 9l/100km in my 2003 320i (2.2l 6 cyl not the crap 2.0l 4cyl engine they got now) on highways averaging about 140km/h and 13l-14l/100km if I drove with a heavy foot.
The onboard consumption indicators are a bit optimistic. In practice the consumption is higher.
