Im assuming that is the SV1000?

Anyways, I want to get a D675

The 2009 SE looks SWEEEET. Just want some white rims...

Image

I am hoping I can get one next year :P
http://www.triumph.co.uk/uk/2009%20Triu ... spx?page=1

If they dont flush mount the flickers like on the Ninjas, then I want to try get some gixxer mirrors and replace the standard one with the gixxer mirrors and then get some small cheap flush mounted flickers for the side to just cover the hole :P

Hope they integrate the flickers into the tail light as well or something similar :P

That triumph is one of my favourites.. a real beaut and a great bike too.

This is BMW's S1000RR in road going trim.. At first I was not sure about the headlights, but after seeing a few more angles I'm now a fan. Its almost like a little tribute to the R1200S racebikes. I hate the green though, it'll be an alpine white one for me :D

Its got mega power and light weight too (143.9kw 193hp - 183 kg).

PsyCLown - gah! that Triumph is just beautiful *sob*

Scavenger - not sure about the BMW, I like the front lights, a very interesting look and i think it works. Side-view i think it looks a bit to 'busy', especially the white/blue/red version.
Can i detect a hint of Honda VTR in there somewhere as well?
Still an awesomely capable bike though. Are they for sale in SA yet? Dread to think of the pricing..

What caught my attention on the BMW is the redline, in excess of 14 000rpm, thats more than my 750 and more than most 600's (they all rev about 13 500).

Screeper - I know what you are saying about the 'busy' side view. Each side of the bike is different though, the right side has gills (and the pipe) and the other side doesn't.

So, I know Wikid likes strokers. Have a looky here.

Not the most beautiful, but from a performance point of view, should be a blast.

And while we're on the subject of ridiculous power-to-weight ratio's:

The Norton NRV 588 Though this seems to have been a prototype from 2007, and it's a little less ridiculous than the stroker above. But not by much...
Launched a year ago at Britain's Birmingham Show, and after a season of development held back by the dismal British summer's constant rain, the NRV588 currently produces 165 horsepower at 11,450 rpm from its liquid-cooled twin-rotor engine, yet weighs just 289 pounds with all fluids but fuel.
That's 165hp and 131kg : 1.259hp/kg
(Excluding fuel, but still)

So, this is my ultimate bike, mostly 'cause it's mine

The paint job is finally done, and I also added new chain, sprocket, tankpad and grips. There are still a few things I'd like to add/alter, but that's a wee bit difficult since I'm in Europe till end March 2010.

wth is that? an exhaust? whats the point of that big bulge when you have that straw sized thing after it?

   GreyWolf, it's a two-stroke exhaust. that bulge is what erm 'amplifies' it's power band (referred to as the rev-box, methinks), if done correctly, and Arrow is a good brand, so that zorst should give quite a noticable increase in performance.

Strokers have an optimal rev range where the most power and torque exists, and this range is much more pronounced than in four stroke motors (it's also typically between 7500 and 10k - 12k rpms - my sister had a race ready nsr 250 whith a power band that kicked in at 7k, and then another one at 10k, al the way up to 13k  that thing was evil!)

It's called a Tuned Pipe.
I'm sure this link should explain everything:

Right, probably not the place to post this, but in all honest I don't think it warrants its own thread.

I've just had my first crash on my scooter. Long story short, it was the first rain in over a week, and I took the corner too fast.

Ending result, a tiny cut on my left hand, a roastie on my left arm, a sore toe, and a pretty bad scrape on my right knee. I was wearing a bag and as such, nothing happened to my back.
Luckily, nothing bad happened to the scooter (mostly). The covering on the handle-bars was a bit dislodged, but overall nothing permanent was damaged.

=P

Ah that sorta sucks man. Glad you're pretty much okay. Question. Were you not wearing gloves at the time?

On the topic of safety and gear, picked these up today:
