that is completely unacceptable! a 975 with a 6970?! Blasphemy! i do believe there must be atleast one 980EX in the PCF office.

Sadly Intel has yet to send us a sample to keep. Intel SA don't even have their own 980X. But the good news is that theya re int he process of ordering one for us.

I might just run a certain new processor @5GHz with the AMD GPU (the one I can't name until the 15th)

wow thats really lame. not even one 980?

with regards to the un-named CPu i do have a suspicion that it will be slower than the 975.

wow man nice score - if i were you i'd grab another HD5850 instead of going HD6xxx series...really man, if you could get that 2nd card to those speeds - your machine would be bitchin' lol 8)

ya dude for sure! but iv made my mind up an sticking to one card till there's a new good price to preformance card that comes out and ill buy 2 straight for xfire.... the 6 series don't oc well so don't wana get one cause my 5850 puts up a huge fight against them at these clocks.... im quite sure iv beaten the 6870 overcloked score and i rate im about 2k-3k away from a 6950's score so won't be a notecible upgrade in real life gaming like 5-12fps more than my already 40+ fps in most games....

k just in some new vantage benchmarks i have a higher score than the stock 6950! im all smiles now... but new drivers for the 6 series will have it show higher results soon.... but still happy with my preformance...!

Did a reformat in December and slightly changed my settings in the bios, and now I get the following score:

Possibly not the best score round, but then I guess with an ageing motherboard and processor, it's probably not a bad score

nice score bro! just shows you how sensitive vantage is to gpu and cpu scores..... my gpu score is 19k, yor gpu score is 24k, mu cpu score is 24k and yors is half 12k yet we only 1k points difference in total score....

I don't think I can overclock my CPU any further than where I'm at, but maybe the GPU can go a bit further - what do you think, Jelly

Currently at 800/1150 and stock voltage

And will any further overclocking really actually make a big difference? (especially in gaming)

im not sure what temps and voltages your cpu is at but you can try turn it up a notch and see.... but 4ghz is an awesome overclock..... i only run my gpu at a higher clock when benching.... then i have a lower 24/7 oc and then obviously my stock clocks... try up your gpu for benching reasons.... can u overvolt your gpu? does it have voltage control? even if u went to 850 it would put u into the 20k milestone..... but clock it as high as your temps would let u and run vantage post your score and turn your clocks back down.... keen to see what u could get up too......

Nice Score pilgrim... what are the temps on ur gtx 460 at those clocks under load?
Temps range between 50 and 60 degrees. I must add that I use to run the user defined settings for the fan in MSI Afterbunrner and set it to go to 100% fan speed if the temp reaches 60C. Makes a huge noise.

Have since just left that setting on auto and the max temp I've seen is 62 degrees, while the fan runs at approx. 60-70%, thus it is much quiter.

what are u using to get stress ur gpu that u get those temps pilgrim? and if those temps are accurate then u have loads of headroom for overclocking that card somemore....and if it makes a huge noise then configure the fan lower.... set it to 100 percent at 80-85 degrees or something... and have it curved so that at 60 degrees u only using 60 percent fan speed.... simple fix. and u can keep control of ur temps better than it being stuck on auto and u not really sure whats goin on in the background.... The 460gtx (correct me if im wrong) is rated to 105C but max safe temps that iv seen on the net are about 90C... so my goal would be to have my card run 85C max... so u have 25 degrees tp play with still assuming that ur card is really running that cool....

As the jelly said you have loads of headroom on your gpu. The 460 is a close competitor to the 6870 at stock clocks,I'm not sure about oc'd. If you can overvolt ur gpu then you can still clock higher because you have 25 degrees to play with in temps...
