Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (6th of May MNET)

Post by larch »

I don’t really watch TV anymore and I rarely go to the movies anymore, I think it is in due part to the fact that there is just nothing that grabs my attention enough to keep me in front of a TV/Movie screen for any period of time. But I came across something really interesting that I thought would reach South Africans shores. I watched the pilot episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles about 4 month ago. *Cough* *Cough* internet. But never would I thought that Mnet/Dstv would ever bring this show to our shores, lo and behold it starts on the 6th of May (Tuesday for us uneducated people.) at 20:30 on Mnet.

Back Story:

At the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Sarah, John, and the Terminator successfully destroy the T-1000 and the arm and computer chip from the first Terminator. The Terminator, at its own request, is then destroyed in order to eliminate any future technology that could be used to create Skynet. Sarah and John, now wanted fugitives, must also face the reality that other enemies from the future could be after them. However, they were able to delay “Judgment Day” from 1997 to 2011.

Plot Summary:

Prompted by the return of Terminators into their lives, Sarah and John decide to stop running, and focus on stopping the creation of Skynet. They are aided by Cameron, a Terminator who poses as a female student at John’s school, and whose mission is to protect John. Meanwhile, FBI Agent James Ellison pursues Sarah and John with the belief that Sarah is deranged.

Yes I can hear a couple of people bitching and moaning about the fact that they cant really make a tv show based of the movie and that it is going to be more of the same but I don’t really care. I have been a fan of the Terminator franchise since the very first movie and even if the last movie wasn’t all that great it had good entertainment value. And from the online reviews that I have read, the scores and ratings it has been getting isn’t too bad. And Fox has confirmed a 2nd season, if a show survives past the 1st season stage than that is always a good sign.

And its just another good excuse to drool over Summer Glau while she kicks mechanized terminator bottom.

Summer Glau opened up several cans of whoop@ss in Serenity. Nice choice for a terminator.
I'll give it a watch regardless of the nay-sayers.

Each to their own vs. To each his own. :dontknow:

English is not my first language, but... is this one of those "potato/patata" situations?

Im a huge fan of Summer Glau. Like jammin said, she rocked in Serenity. "Two by two, hands are blue"... wait, that was in Firefly...

I read some reviews on this show, it seems to have a decent following. Im definitely keen to see it. Lena Heady isnt too bad either, i would put it there (hey, who said that ?!?!)
Lee Mercer (Angel): This is getting ridiculous. The first assassin kills the second assassin sent to kill the first assassin, who didnt assassinate anyone until we hired the second assassin to assassinate her.
