Nissan Navara is an awesome car. I personally wouldn't buy anything made by Mazda except an RX-7/8.

Subaru is awesome, except beng full-time 4WD you will chew tires quicker, as well as use slightly more fuel (I believe, though could be wrong).

Focus ST is an awesome car too.

Rav-4 is a good car, except - as you say- a little feminine.

Yeah Nissan Navara is awesome.. But for the price I am looking for I will get one with 60 000 + km.. I dont want that....

Subaru is still on my mind in second place
Then Honda Civic hatch
then Ford focus ST

I dont know ..?? :?:

The only civic worth buying is the Type-R, if you'r not looking at that one then I wouldn't (depends on what you're looking for in a vehicle I suppose).
Scooby still awesome :D

EDIT: I recommend taking each for a test drive before you make any decisions.

Yeah type are is awesome. A little pricey still..

I not really after such a fast car. Fast is cool. But if it dont fit in the price range then I wont look at it...

The standard Civic is like 108kw.. Thats not to bad.

I agree the scuby is awesome...temping!!!

You can get a nice BMW with low mileage and motorplan. That's why there's so many on the roads. Otherwise go Audi. You'll get a decent A3 2.0 TDi

I'm personally waiting for a 135i.

If you buying the car to pay it off get the Honda!

Last thing you need is after 3 years (out of warranty) the Turbos go on the Ford or Subaru... and Honda is insanely reliable... altho haven't checked resale on them lately....ANDDD i see they have 200000km or 6 year warrantees these days?!!?

Another point, Don't buy the ford, its due for facelifting... so buy one now, 2 months later its value drops by R20k jsut like that.... it is a better car than the Scooby tho...

DON'T BUY FRENCH... its tempting, but as u drive it out the garage, its worth half what u just paid for it....

i'm sure i can think of more stuffs, but i've had a long day at work, and my brain is nearly dead...

[EDIT]
notice no comment on RAV4

Mazda BT50 - vomit inducing looks
Nevara - 1 star NCAP rating!!
RAV4 - you were seriously considering this? are you gonna be married soon? what's his name? ;)

My advice: BWM or Audi, as long as you don't chose a convertible...

Nisssan X-Trail? dunno the current price. I got one and love it.Not too bad

I love Audi but wouldn't recommend it. There are certain things that go wrong with them after Maintenance plan has expired, and you can't afford them.

I'd get the ST. If not, then the Civic is next in line. Both great looking cars.

Oh dammit you beat me to it!

But I just read that they have revised it:

"Euro NCAP today releases results for its assessment of the modified Nissan Navara. The upgraded car has achieved three stars for adult occupant protection. After Euro NCAP’s earlier tests highlighted serious safety concerns, Nissan promptly modified all new production vehicles and initiated a Service Campaign to upgrade the airbag software of all Navaras produced since 2005."

I have A3 now. Had three Audi's... They good until 100 000km .

No service plan no Audi... Every time it goes in for a checkup something else starts going wrong. I never had a service plan :( $$$$$$

Need a car that will last this time .

@ Mozz

Still think the New Civic 1.8 Vtec is good... Like the space age look inside..

@ Greywolf

I was and am considering it.. Nice for going away and stuff for the bush as well.. Its nice and high...

Not planning on getting married soon.....ish .. got to first find the unlucky bird first though!!! I mean lucky!!! :P

@ acidkidsa If you into small SUVs, do yourself a favour and get an X-Trail. Got a friend with a 2.5 liter one and it is fantastic.

@ synthesis: Evo X is not all that. have a video where they race it against evo 8 , evo 9 and 3 generations of Scoobies... new Scooby came 1, 2 was older Scooby... Evo X came DEAD LAST!
