3DMark06 crashes/is not responding

I have a slight problem and any help would be much appreciated.

Recently bought a GeCube ATi HD2600XT 512Mb 256Bit graphics card (yes, i am on a very tight budget! ) and just wanted to see how it runs 3DMark06, but 3Dmark won't even load up. Just shows the logo/loading screen and Windows XP SP2 says it isn't responding.
Have newest Catalyst drivers installed. Newest mobo drivers, etc. as well.

Think it might be my extreme lack of power (recommended power for system is 550W. I am running on a FSP 350W PSU  ). But im not sure. I can run games fine though, without any crashes...

Running AMD 64 2X 3800+, Asus M2NBP-VM CSM, 2x 512Mb HyperX 800MHz DDR2.

Thanks

Something tells me this is a software issue-I've had similar issues with 3dmark and reinstalling solved it.

Do a BIOS update. Do a driver update (for chipset, Gcard and so on).

Lets try google for power issue with that card but if it plays games fine then I'm sure it's ok.

I found the problem!! Installed the feb2008 hotfix for 3DMark06 and program runs fine now. Awesome!

Only problem now is that for some odd reason, it seems that windows, directx 9.0c and ATi's catalyst drivers don't like each other at all. Keep getting a 'direct3D failed' message every now and then in games and 3DMark. Very irritating...

thx for help frozenfireside!
