Hey

I need some options for my future sound setup in my car.

Not sure what car it will be but most likely a hatch (something with enough room for subs). The car I currently looking for.

I now need advice on the sound. I have at my disposal

2x 250w 8 ohm subs
2x 400w 8 ohm subs

Budget is limited. Can i use a pair of these subs? which should i use for a car?
What amp should i look at? Coast is obviously a factor.
Crossovers? Tweeters? 6x9's?

Where are you getting 8ohm speakers from, a hifi?

www.autostyle.co.za for all your sound needs.

i currently have 4 12" subs. I am moving to Pretoria and leaving a set behind for my bro to use for any parties he wants to throw with his friends.

Rather get speakers meant for a car, the pressures in a boot are different compared to open air. You could in theory connect 2 of the 8ohm speakers together in parallel to get a 4ohm circuit.

Try and get a bundled system from Autostyle ie:

Exactly the one I recommended in my link.
Go quality - even if it costs a few bucks extra above the others

I agree, it's overrated. I prefer JBL and it's cheaper too.

a.f.a.i.k audiopipe is the only "TRUE" american product. but ja jbl is a good product. if you want to spend a lot of cash on a good product get XTC

Rockford is really good but way over priced. I agree with muffinman, XTC sound is off the chain and it wn't cost you a arm and a leg!!

Rockford is worth the money in my opinion. Everything in our Vito is Rockford.

Buy a Uno, and I will come kick your bottom personally.
The sound will probably shake the poor thing to bits - hell you will have the best fuel economy.. seeing as you get stranded without fuel quite often.. BUT it is a VERY unsafe car to be driving in.
my $2.34

Get different tweeters though - and the hiss on Sony HU's (during blank spots) is very irritating. Rather get an entry level Pioneer HU.

The system doesn't come with wiring and a sub enclosure, but its still a decent entry level system.

before looking at the sony xplod package - im sure you can get better stuff than Sony

if you really are interested in a quality system - have a look at this

http://www.systemshock.co.za/forums/ind ... =20603&hl=

can also get you good headunits and also amps at a good discount

this will fit into any hatchback including your Yaris - just need the headunit and amp as well as high frequency speakers - and you are good to go

if you want to listen to how it sounds i can give you a demo - also as far as installation goes - around three quarter of the job is done if you already have the sub in the box - mounting the amp is easy as is installing the headunit and speakers and that wont cost too much
