Choppy Play - Juiced 2

I recently loaded the Juiced 2 demo and played it without too much hassles (apart from the crappy control system - forgot my XBox controller! :? )

This weekend I got a copy of the full game and installed it with great anticipation.
Problems with the opening vids weren't a big worry at that stage.

The menus look stunning and after creating the game character :? I got ready to race.

Okay...

Loading time took over 5 min (WTF) but okay...
Racing impossible thanks to game freezing every 10 seconds - yet sound plays no problem (WTF!!!!).

NFS ProStreet plays well on my system and even The Witcher without incident.
What could the problem be?

What are your system specs? My buddy plays pro street and oblivion but yet can't even launch juiced 2. On my rig the game runs fine but the sound goes weird and speeds up sometimes. Also, I can't set up my xfx controller or logitech steering in game.

Well I heard that people with XP have the problem and people with Vista don't have the problem.

HA HA so now people with XP will have to move to Vista. The stupid people who think Vista is crap.

Vista works like a charm for me. It runs even better than XP for me.

Nelis, you are not very helpful, rude yes, helpful no. For me to upgrade to Vista for a crap game is out of the question.

Well juiced can be fun. This game is better than Pro street. Prostreet is fun to. I upgraded to vista so that I can get used to it and not begin to get used to it when SP1 comes out. all u have to do is install the latest updates and Vista works like a charm.

I'm not rude to you I'm just laughing at people who have to get used to Vista when SP1 is coming out. Hear me out more and more games is gonna perform better on Vista than on XP in the future not to mention the programs that will also work better on Vista.

I too thought Vista was crap until I used it with my new system.

WinXP dual core hotfix maybe? I know that some games have an issue when it's not installed

I have amd's dual core optimizer on my system. My buddy has a single core cpu though. Why would i not be able to use a controller in juiced 2 though?

Oh ya, my gaming performance will suck with vista installed. Lol. Better get a new card first.

Okay....

I'm running a very crappy system at the moment (saving for a monster PC).
But here's the specs anyway.
- AMD64 3000+ (2.07Ghz)
- 2gb DDR 400 RAM
- Gigabyte 6600 (@ stock)
- A 20Gb PATA and 80Gb SATA HDD
- Asus A8V-E SE Mobo (crap!!!)

I can play NFS ProStreet quite well (after tweeking the graphics and card settings) and cope with Oblivion (although some sacrifices had to be made in the graphics department  ).
The Witcher plays like a charm and I only had to kill AA and the stupid grass (which I don't like anyway).

Yes I know I'm pushing my luck with this system, but I still manage to keep games going while I save for the new setup.

I run XP and might go to Vista with the new system.

I would love to play Juiced 2 though...
ProStreet is cool but I need some arcade style racing too.

Man, I think juiced may just be badly coded.

QFT,

shinji-aoi - disable the sound in the configuration thingy, your performance should be waaay better then. This happened to me with my friends pc, I think it has something to do with juiced 2 only using HD sound cards? so lower performance cards/onboard gets a beating for being.. well, slow? :?

Hmm, weird.

Im running Juiced on Vista 64bit and its running fine on my PC...the frames are around 30 and dip into the low 20s sometimes, but thats due to my specs which are as follows:

AM2 X2 3800+
4GB RAM
8800GTS 320MB
and im running it @ 1680 x 1050 with 4x AA
im also running an Audigy 2 ZS and have NO PROBLEM with sound.

That is Vista 64bit with no SP and all the updates. Latest nVidia drivers as well.

Very fun game, the steering on the 1st stage is extremely sensative though...but once you buy your own car it seems a bit better. :D

IMO its entertaining for a while, but seems to get boring kinda quickly...its pretty much like NFS Carbon (havent played Pro Street) from what iv played so far.

well I'm selling my copy... :?

This game sucks!!!

My Specs:

AMD FX-62
2GB RAM
8800GT 512MB
WinXP Pro Sp2
ASUS Crosshair mobo that has an onboard HD Sound Card :?

All drivers are up to date and this game is going frame by frame at a res of 800*600!!! 8O 8O 8O

I disable all audio and it comes right and can be played, enable only sound with no music and it is still choppy!

THQ and Microsoft need to get sued for releasing a sub standerd game that only works on some platforms. Oh and to those who say this is better than Pro Street at least Pro Street could be played! Also the cars handled on Pro Street (and any other NFS title) both Juiced games the cars handle like <insert expletive here>...

I am going to go to BTGames this weekend and sell this useless piece of ...

Look my exp is based on the PC version who knows maybe it will be better on XBOX 360 but I will refuse to support the game even if it was the best thing out on 360 simply because of the crap coding in the PC version...

I'll try all the advice.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in battle with Seagate with regards to my stuffed 2-year old drive.

Until I get a new drive, no games....
