Freelance work & tax?

Hi all,
This is for all that do freelance work...wanted to check how you do the tax thing. A while back with this small business amnesty thing that SARa introduced, I went in to fill informs etc for this as I was doing some work in my spare time for friends and family. Woman at SARS said I didnt have to fill in this form etc...as I dont have a small business.
Apparently I have to declare monies I make (from other than my full time job) in the Tax return form in a specific place. I didnt know about this up till a few months ago.
Does anyone here that does freelance work add any money they make "on the side" in their tax returns? I know its a sensitive topic...but was just curious as I was not aware of this...
