Aliens was better than than Alien. I agree with the T2 comment aswell, as with T3 it wasn't that bad. I've heard they making a T4. Lady in the water I thought was ok. Different kind of story. Hey Silverback go have a looky here www.upcominghorrormovies.com Really cool horror movie website. I am also looking forward too One Miss Call, I just hope it lives up to the trailer.

Godfather and Terminators were trilogies. Trilogies aren't sequels.

For trilogy done completely wrong: see Matrix.

Wrong!

LOtR was a trilogy. The origional Starwars movies were a trilogy.

Godfather and Terminator were successful movies that spawned sequels, unless I am mistaken.

I personally think Superman 2 was the best of all of them, I'll give you that.
Temple of Doom was the Best Indiana Jones
Alien owned all the later movies
AvP was better then Requiem
The first Pirates was the best
The first Spiderman was the best
MIB2 was rubbish

You cant tell me all those sequels were better than the origionals

woah woah woah...

sequels do not have to be better, they just have to be as good...

I preferred Iniana jones and the Holy Grail the most.

I enjoyed AvP Requiem more. but that is immaterial since that franchise is basically a sequel to Alien and Predator, so by admitting you liked AvP, you liked a sequel.

Alien Resurrection was by far the best Alien movie.

Superman Returns was fantastic.

You cannot deny that Batman Begins was better than the first movie. I like Batman 2 as well, but between that and "Begins", the rest were CRAP!

I enjoyed all the "Pirates" equally.

I found the last Spider Man the best. This is because I am a big "Venom" fan, but that just goes to show you that there was nothing to separate the movies technically.

And I did like MIB2.

In the end: yes, you do get bull crap sequels, but you do also get great ones.

You're right as far as I can tell. There's a 4th Terminator movie planned but I thought that all 3 Terminators were planned before the first screening. Godfather 1-3 is commonly known as the Godfather trilogy but doesn't seem to fit the definition for true trilogies like LOtR and SW (ie planned 3 movies/novels from start).

hmm... picture this... the longer you continue to endorse this crud by spending money on it, the longer you will continue to receive it.

it's all crud... all of it. imagining it to be anything remotely associated with 'light entertainment' is like calling american talk shows 'reality'.

what's wrong with pointing at a pile of dung and calling it dung?

aside from aliens, nothing in the list you provided could be considered worthwhile. especially not spiderman's emo reincarnation or that mind-numbingly backward pirates of the caribbean... (please note the spelling... )

Reuters wrote:"10,000 BC" a mammoth at worldwide box office

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "10,000 BC," a widely ridiculed prehistoric action movie boasting a menagerie of exotic beasts, trampled the competition at box offices around the world.

According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, the Warner Bros. Pictures release sold $61 million worth of tickets during its first weekend.

The North American contribution was $35.7 million from 3,410 theaters, an easy No. 1 ahead of fellow rookie "College Road Trip" with $14 million.

The North American opening was "right on target," said Dan Fellman, president of domestic theatrical distribution at the Time Warner Inc-owned studio. Pundits had expected an opening in the $30 million to $40 million range.

The film, which Fellman said cost "slightly north" of $100 million to make, was almost unanimously ripped by critics. USA Today described it as a "bombastic bore" and The New York Times as "sublimely dunderheaded."

Newcomer Steven Strait stars as a mammoth hunter who battles a horde of slave-traders. Gargantuan birds and saber-tooth tigers add to the intrigue. The film was directed by Roland Emmerich, the German auteur behind such hits as "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow."

"10,000 BC" also opened at No. 1 in 19 of 20 territories, picking up a total of $25.3 million. Top markets included Spain ($4.5 million) and Mexico ($3.8 million). It opens in Italy and the United Kingdom on Friday.

The Walt Disney Co broad comedy "College Road Trip," which also appalled critics, stars Martin Lawrence as the overprotective father of a college freshman played by Raven-Symone. The film played in 2,706 theaters across the United States and Canada.

Critics did love one new release but moviegoers were less enthused. The heist thriller "The Bank Job" opened at No. 5 with a modest $5.7 million from 1,603 theaters. The film, based on the 1971 robbery of a Lloyds bank in London, stars Jason Statham. It was released by Lionsgate, a unit of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.

Last weekend's champion, "Semi-Pro," slid to No. 4 with $5.8 million. The comedy, which cost $57 million to make, has earned just $24.7 million after 10 days. Will Ferrell stars as the flamboyant owner of an underdog basketball team in the film, which was released by New Line Cinema, also a unit of Time Warner.

The assassination thriller "Vantage Point" slipped one place to No. 3 with $7.5 million. The film, released by Sony Corp's Columbia Pictures, has earned $51,7 million after three weeks.

I was just barely entertained by Pierce Brosnan's attempts, and I have to say Casino Royal offered me absolutely nothing that I had not already seen.

I wont be paying to watch another Bond movie - regardless of who plays the lead.

But hey, good luck with your crush on Daniel Craig. People at the parade tell me he's simply dreamy

:P!

I don't know... Casino Royale was more serious than the previous Bonds.

Just for reference... name a good movie for me... (and I don't mean "Durban Does Derek", I mean a real movie ;) )...

A bunch of sequels a few horrors and an M. Night Shyamalan movie...

How exiting.

I'll probably go see 10000BC this weekend. The critics panned it, but it looks like a fun ride!

I'm also considering 10 000 BC, it looks fun and it reminds me of a series of books I almost read.
