3D Mark 06 loves vista

For those that have not noticed, you get a hiher score on Vista than XP when running 3D Mark 06, I got 300 points more

erm no not exactly. Depends on the gfx card used and drivers...
XP still edges out Vista on my rig even thought its a little bit it still does.

Most reviews I've read have XP scores more or less 150 points more than on Vista

very odd...vista performs better than xp did on mine...guess it is all just depending on your configuration..as always

i find the banches are good if you have an 8800 or better but the 8600 series suck balls when in sli.... seems nvidia and microsoft just never worked on decent support for these cards.....

I used vista for over a year then got my hands on the hacked DX10 version, so i went back to XP with SP3 and found that my system ran generally slower, my 3d marks were lower, 2006, and my games did not perform as well, this was before i installed the DX10 on to it.
Honestly cant say weather or not the DX10 worked or not, seeing as everything else was slower i was more in a hurry to get ym RIG back up to speed than testing something that was not actually meant to ever work with XP.
On the other hand i know people who tested vista and benched up to 30% less performance.
I cant speak for everyone but with research i read that vista was designed around the new platforms and have personally noticed it works lousy on older rigs, another friend in particular, his system benched better than mine, XP vs XP but he then installed vista and his system pretty much dies underneath it.
Even with mine being newer his graphics out performed mine, his cpu was a bit more powerful but he was still running DDR400, i was on DDR667, E4400 vs 4200+, 8600 vs dual 6600 both sata drives.
@ days end i suppose it depends on the person using the computer and what he put behind it that will make all the difference.

I could, but wasnt willing to wait another week without a PC for a DFI board!
