Manning road isnt a straight road 8O the freeway is more or less straight so i can go fast in it ! cornering thought with that merc unfortunately at high speeds the tire touches the arch so cant go fastzerubabel wrote:Still lies though... Your car struggled to stay on the road on Manning Road, on new tar, at 80kmph or so..RiaX wrote:Hey dude it was on the N3 coming from PMB anyways yes its a tank but its a solidly built tank new cars are all light weight for performance and fuel efficiency bla bla bla ... thats why the new cars end up like that poor kid in the m5 in the other topiczerubabel wrote:No but really. i always feared for my life even going 80 in that car... the suspension is busted and that car is a tankSlasher wrote:Sounds familiar...zerubabel wrote:Lies. that car is so unstable you'd be in a tree with that speed!!!!RiaX wrote:well on the freeway slightly above 200 according to my speedometer in a '92 e230 merc (was going downhill)

140km/h in both toyata corolla 130 and 140. The 140 reaches it easier and doesnt sound like a jet engine. Wish we had a autobaan like in germany where we can pedal to the medal with no civilians playing carmagedon with their lives.
Who's paying for my repaires when I actually hit an N2 runner? Motha !@$%#$!#$.

140 in a Merc C180
and 130 in my car, 1300 Tazz
(Also been 120 when my car had 3 buckled wheels, felt like it was falling apart around me)
My water record is just over 80km on a 6m skiboat, with a 115hp engine, and then came a swell, so apparently i have an air speed record too...

In my own car I cant give an accurate result.
Because I need to balance the front wheels.
And of course, my speedo isn't exactly accurate. It fluctuates.
After about 100kph, it stops wobbling. But I think my speedo is around 20kph to slow. When I go @ 140, get this lovely vibration. Dont like it. So I go about 130 which is slightly slightly faster than the average driver on the freeway.
140 is cruising. I don't think people believe that an uno can pass them.
Back on to topic, fastest I've been in my car is about 160. But I'd say its 140. Give or take 15.

How about that for fuel economy eh? I got to drive around in a 911 GT 2 once. The 2005 model. Unfortunately it wasn't mine and there wasn't a track nearby to test it on so anything approaching insanity in that car was strictly off limits. All i can say...that car is planted. Until it decides to oversteer. But the S2000 is far less forgiving in the time and severity of its oversteer. Damn near went in sideways on a corner many times. Thankfully this was on the relative safety of a track.
Give me a place to stand, and i shall move the earth.
