What have you eaten last?

Post by Keigo »

Surely we all see food and drink inside in Anime & Manga.

There always be one thing(or many many things, like me) that you see makes you wanna try it.

So do you actually wanna taste it?

Are you thirst for it?

Will it make you cook it if u can't buy it or find it?

for eg. I was watching ARIA few weeks ago at late night... saw this image pop up the screen...

Image Image

like hell u can find a pizza middle of the night like 2am...Image

so the next day for lunch~ order 2 large pizza to forfil my thirst.

so will you find a replacement to stop the thirst? or go get it? or ignore it?

if you see any nice food/drink inside anime or manga can also post here tell people what it is, what it taste like, where to find it and maybe how to make it.

I just eat the normal foods: pocky, different ramen/udon dishes, Kirin beer etc.

I get them from nice restaurants and stuff.

Nothing special.

Japanese food looks good but pretty plain. I've only eaten sushi. It was fantastic.

Wasabi burns!

If I see the food in anime, and I can find the ingredients, I'ld make it myself. Though in my area those commodities are scarce.

BTW Keigo, judging from your avatar and emoticons, I'ld say you're fresh from a Japanese/Korean forum. Those emoti's are all over those sites.

Well~ yeah~ most of the online games lately are design by koreans.
So normally I get wallpaper from korean sites.
but like emotions and icon. I get from taiwan or japan sites~ bcoz their are more funny and cute.

That looks good.

Wasabi is that green paste, no?

I can eat a fresh green or red chilli. But wasabi was like an instant sting.
The hottest would be Habanero. Chilli pales in comparison.

I make rice balls (onigiri) at home.
It's easy to make and very tasty.
I also make maki sushi.
I'm not sure if that's strictly the correct term.
It's the one that has the nori (seaweed) on the outside and rice with filling inside.
For filling I've used smoked salmon and smoked snoek.
The most difficult thing for me is to get the amount of rice vinegar correct since every bottle I buy has a different recipe for it.

Unfortunately I'm allergic to wheat, but I can eat soba noodles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soba
I have used the noodles as replacement for spaghetti - I have yet to make one of those soba dishes though.
I prefer soba noodles to regular spaghetti noodles.
I started my wheat-free diet roughly 3 years ago so I can still remember what regular spaghetti noodles taste like.

Ooo yummy. Lotsa nice treats.
And you got that right. Being served by someone would definitely make the experience better. (wow. I'm sounding like an otaku sod...)

I was planning on going to Japan to taste these made from the home. Restaurants and premade packs are good but on all my culinary adventures, home made's the best!

Shweet!

For a good trip around Japan, you'ld need R20 000. That's if you know the right people else normally a ticket would cost you R20 000 alone.

Also, it'ld be best to go at the right time, to catch the particular events of the year, know Japanese fluently and backpack the trip. That was my intention but alas the finances.

By backpacking, you'll see rare sights unheard of by the conventional traveller. Also, by knowing fluent Japanese you could swindle your way into otherwise forbidden places.

If it's a woman that can backpack. That'ld be heaven on earth.

Mmm desert. Here's a fav. There's just too many to mention. The last one I remember having was this chocolate one. Some fancy name made with Dark Chocolate.
I hated the dark brand before this desert but after eating it and reading up on dark choc, boy has that changed.

The eastern deserts rule. Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi. And even the rare types of some european countries.

Amazing... people who oggle the food in anime. Well I always see some interesting dish I'd really like to try in anime but I have no clue how to go about it. So what I usually do is go to this Chinese (hey, what else can a boy do?) place on campus to chow on their spring rolls.

I think every otaku should undertake at least one trip to Japan in their lifetime for the experience and if it happens to include hot Japanese ladies, even better. I think when I finnish varsity I'll take a year off to go check out Japan... first I gotta learn the language. 8)

I used to eat ramen quite often.
You need to like hot food though because it's usually hot.
It's very cheap and consists of a packets with "1 minute noodles" and some flavouring.
You just boil water and chuck everything in.
I used to add a tiny bit of chopped spring onion.
Ramen originally came from China and was later adopted by the Japanese.

Two animes I can think of that feature ramen lovers are Naruto and Ranma 1/2 (Shampoo)
