I don't think it has that much ecchi. No nipples, wth?
Btw when is ep #3 out?
Is this a weekly or monthly show?
@ Zeros : Yes it does. It's a follow-up. There's reference to Sonsaku and a lot of the old characters are still there. It's a little bit more violent than the first though...

Well if you like seeing semi/ fully naked teenage girls getting thier skulls crushed and brains splatterd against a wall then it'll porbably be right up your alley.
Don't be holding your breath for the originals though.

8O I take it that's an exaggeration!?
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance - it is the illusion of knowledge.
This season looks pretty intense. You're thrust smack dab into the story. Not many preludes.
The action is brilliant and the fanservice is just so much better. The way they can callously, yet seriously, show hot women fighting while their breasts are jiggling and their underwear is being ripped apart. So good. Heh Heh.
I really don't know if they really follow the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms story. I've come across that inference in many games. Most notably, Dynasty Warriors. 3 brothers (really close friends) who make a pact. 3 empires vying for territory. etc, etc.
I don't know if DWarriors follows the story but the most powerful character in there was called Lu Bu. He had a spear very similar to Kanu's and boy oh boy was he tough. Fully maxed out custom warriors on even 2 player mode could not take him out in a single bout. He is killed in the story nevertheless.
I've noted two similarities between the anime and game. Zhou, the name of one of the brothers who made the pact IIRC. Zhuge Liang, he was a mysterious fellow but a master tactician. His (rather 'her') appearance in the anime was in eps 4. She stands on the cliff with a a fan in her hand. her attire is exact to that of Zhuge Liang.
Has anyone read the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms novel?
Also for some reason, Hakufu would annoy me in season 1. Here she appears to be very clumsy but in an adorable and cute way.

Hyper-Battle Ikki Tōsen is a series loosely based on the manga by Yuji Shiozaki, which is in turn based on the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
