3d Mark06, SM2.0

Heya,

I have DS3 mobo, E6600 and an Asus 8800GTS 320mb. I get 6.5k in 3dmark06, which is alot lower than comparable rigs (they score about 8-8.5k on the site).

My CPU score is pretty much bang on to the others, but my SM2.0 score is about 1000 lower than other scores.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

Thanks

Yeesh. I nearly get that much with a 7900gtx and 6400. What psu? Temps?

Maybe your board only has a X8 PCI-E slot? that shouldnt make too much of a difference though. Have you maybe OCed the card? Also check the temps and make sure your PSU is sufficient for your graphics card as stated by I34z1k. :P

Well, I have an a-open 700W psu, and no, I have not OC anything yet.

I want to get my system sorted before I go on an overclocking spree (which I will do :P )

I was wondering if this whole debarcle was more software related (more so driver related).

Temps on the GPU are about 56 and the cpu about 40. Not the best airflow atm, but getting new fans in the next week or so to improve that.

Make sure you haven't got AF or AA turned on.

Hmmm weird. Those temps are fine. Ya, check AA and Af.

turned AA and AF both off.

When i installed my new PC, I did the mobo drivers, then the gpu drivers, are there any other drivers I am missing?

Hmm, are you running the latest drivers?

Also are you running XP or Vista?

Try a different benchmark, like 3dm03 and see if you score the same as other users. Maybe its just 3dm06,

IS Asus game face. Antivir etc. Running in the background?

Reinstall 3dmark06, Disable those apps. Also make sure all your power connectors are plugged in on the motherboard.

And my GPU's temp is 62c with the stock cooler, Gainward 8800GTS. :? And the A/c is on so it's cool in my room.

I re-istalled my whole XP, and was very careful to installing.

Managed to go up from 6.7k to 8.3k,

M 2.0 Score 3697 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 3694 Marks
CPU Score 2095 Marks

Thanks for the help guys, think i MAY have had kaspersky running in the background when I updated and installed my Gpu drivers :P
