The Real Thing...BMW M6

Post by BT20V »

Ok, so we've all heard of the BMW M6 and we know what it looks like (to me that would be ugly  ), and we know what it's specs are. For those that do not know...

BMW M6
5.0L V10
371kw / 505 bhp
0-100km/h = 4.9sec

Now, if we think about those specs, most go "WOW! That must be quick...", but you guys haven't got a clue, until you've watched this...

damns straight - its really butt-ugly - the 6 series is one3 of the ugliest cars i have seen - and im saying that without trying to be a playa-hater

but daaaammmmnnnn - that car goes like a bat out of hell - 340 k/ph with the limiter removed is frigging fast in anyones books - so credit where its due ........... lots of respect for that speed

doesnt look too bad here - but when you stand next to it and look at it the 6 series is terrible - i actually hate the look of it - and i think the 3 series looks far better

it looks fine in the pic - but as ive said to me the 5 series and 6 series are amongst the worst cars ive ever seen - the 3 series has clean lines

have you ever really looked at the taillights of the 5 series - and the boot of the 6 series - those are absolutely terrible and the only reason i can see to buy those is the speed

def!!!
The 6 is actually quite nice, the 3 is average the 5 is ugly and the 7, well the 7 is ...shame.

i must say i am huge fan of z4 M. Def best looking car in the range, and is alot more masculine than the z3.

However the pricing for m6 is a little bit on the steep side for me, i think u could get something similar for less

6 series is one of the only BMW designs I like. All M Power cars have brilliant engines!

BMW: Brilliant engines, crap styling...

I'm not a big fan, but I like the E46 M3...other than that, there is no BMW I would want...

The new M3 to come looks like it could have some looks, but we'll have to see

Ja, I checked that!

The M6 is really worth it when comparing to some supercars. One of the very big BMW fans I know (M&M on other Forums) put a copy of a new German Mag on CarToday forums. They put a Lambo Galardo, Corvette C6, M6, 911 Turbo and something else (can't remember what  ) up against eachother.

The Porsche raped them all (just like on Topgear), and the Vette was second. But, the M6 beat the Lambo and other cab 2 pieces... 8O ...even on acceleration it was just as quick to 100 as the Lambo, and quicker to 200km/h than the Lambo...

That has to say something :!:

Yeah but M&M is more than just a BMW fan...He's a super-duper (to the exclusion of all else) Fanboi deluxe

Even so, it's nice to see the M6 playing with the baby big boys 8)

in real life it is a sight to behold. Its lines are clean and stand out as unique. It is magnificent in a word. Pictures do not do the car justice. Any car with an M badge provokes emotion to the BMW purist. And the engines are absolutely unrivaled in their respective price ranges. Mercedes need Superchargers, and Audi's need Quattro, BMW's Are pure rear wheel drive naturally aspirated perfection. Maybe I am a little bias ;)

A client of my friend has a BMW M5 Delimited, and tuned by German BMW engineers themselves (long story), and that thing IS a supercar. Like them or hate them, if you can afford it, they are worth every cent!!

EDIT:

And a porsche vs anything in a straight line drag is unfair because of the natural traction that the porsche has with its engine sitting on the rear wheels. My friend mentioned above raced a 360 vs a colleagues 911 (997) carrera S and the 911 killed the 360. But it was only for a while, then the ferrari keeps the gap the same, then it starts catching it...

except for the 335, which i hope is a once off, the thing i always liked about bmw was the lack of turbos or superchargers
