I stay in Pietermaritzburg and work for a Linux-based company, so I have access to most distributions.

Feel free to contact me if you are in PMB and let me know what you need.

I don't like being annoying, but since you seem really keen, send me Debian.

(Or which is your preferred distro at the moment?)

Definately Debian atm!!!! ArchLinux (even though it only has min packages) and Gentoo are awesome, but that would scare you
So I'll send Debian. Just know what Lenny (version 5, as Etch is v4) is coming out soon
Still want me to send? Its 4 DVD's, including the update

I'd like to get a copy of Debian if possible. I have heard many good things about it.

Right guys

After trying to get Debian to work and failing (But prevailed in the end) I managed to acquire 60Gb local cap  .... along with Debian Lenny (all 5 dvds), gentoo 2008.0, Linux Mint 6 XFCE and Xubuntu 8.10.

Now that I'm sitting with 60GB local cap and a working distribution... who wants what distros? let me know what distro and the local site address and i'll download it and send it to you (postage and cd costs will depend on area and medium required... dvd, cd, 1 cd, 5 cd's... etc.)

This is my way of helping out the local open source/linux scene.

Hehe, my methods of bypassing some things to download it were in fact a bit sordid... :P

I forgot how much I enjoy using Ubuntu. The sheer hassle of trying to get Vista or 7 running properly on an nForce 3 chipset equipped PC when combined with an ATI AGP card quickly reminded me... grrrrrr...

AFAIK the internet situation in SA has improved steadily over the last few years... however I doubt to many people have an unlimited cap per month... to that end I am willing to download and burn any distro's etc. that anybody would need... the only downside is I will be posting it from the UAE... so it will take a week or so to hit SA, and it isn't going to cost 5 Zim dollars either :/ anyhow, if there is something I can help with please let me know...

Hi

I am a newbie staying in Centurion. I have the latest Opensuse 13.1 which was came with Linux Format magazine.
I also have Opensuse 12.2, Mandriva 10 (64 bit) and then a whole lot of very old Mandrake distributions.

I believe Ubuntu and XUbuntu (mobile one?) is version 12.xx or something.

Then will SteamOs also be classified as one or is that too specific?
