Scythe. But I'd get a Zalman 9500 / 9700 if I were you.

The Sythe. Id rather get a Zalman though!

the scythe ninja would perform marginally better than the zalmans - id say it depends on the price - the scythe will be noticably quiter too

dont leave out that arctic cooling freezer pro - those and the zalman are around the same price and around the same performance give or take a few degrees also

I have a Zalman CNPS7700-CU which I picked up...
my CPU idles at 26 degrees. (3.4 Ghz Pentium D Oc'ed to 3.9Ghz)
heavy Load, if about 30 degrees room temperature... max = 50 degrees under 70+ usage.

Easy install too

what about this, Gigabyte - 3D Rocket II CPU air cooler.
Is it more or less in the same ballpark as the zalman and scythe variaties ?
It does look like it works on the same principle...

Leave Gigabyte coolers go with the scythe or zalman, they are soo quiet too

I had a rocket. Took the "must not remove" plastic thing out. Got VERY VERY nice temps with it.

If you don't mind, I would like to hijack this thread... If you take a look at here you will notice a plethora of CPU Heatsinks and coolers to choose from. I love choice, but this is just ridiculous, I know the Zalmans are great and the Scythes too, But What does one choose?

There needs to be a benchmark somewhere for CPU coolers. I have been told that the Zalman CNPS9500/led is it, but I just dont know.... What do you think?

Like this for instance, looks good. But does it perform as well as it looks, these Piped, layered heatsinks are interesting..
