Re: What sport do you play?
You want to know the real challenge. It is managing to hold a string, a little thicker than dental floss, with three fingers only while you pull over 40 pounds on it while still remaining relaxed enough to have a stable frame. Even if you get the slightest bit tired everything just starts tensing up and your grouping moves from a 5cm/6cm group on 5 arrows to a whopping 20cm without changing anything else.

Why not just use an M4A1 Carbine? It's more powerful and more accurate, and less tiring. Also a higher rate of fire.

You need a specialized gun license. Which by the way you can only get for a carbine if your job requires it

Squash is cool. Great way to stay fit. I don't play it, which explains why I'm not fit.

I currently shoot .22 rifle, pistol and air rifle, as well as canoe and cycle
Canoeing has done wonders for my shooting, especially in the standing discipline!

How is that?
Re: What sport do you play?
Makes your muscles stronger and fitter so they are more controlled, thus less twitching etc., thus better stability and better aim. Also far more endurance.

Canoe and cycling practices your legs and stamina. It thus improves your base from which you work. Everything in archery and combat shooting stems from having a stable base. If your base is not stable there is no way you can be accurate in anything else you do.Mystical_Titan wrote:How is that?

Shahid Afridi was a "part-time" spinner once upon a time.Mystical_Titan wrote:Batsman.
And hopefully part-time off-spinner this season.
I reckon squash is the greatest crash course on fitness known to man. I played it for about a year, just socially. About two days after my first session, I could hardly walk. But I got used to it within a couple of weeks.Mystical_Titan wrote:Squash is cool. Great way to stay fit. I don't play it, which explains why I'm not fit.
Indeed. Watch The Karate Kid.UrBaN wrote:Makes your muscles stronger and fitter so they are more controlled, thus less twitching etc., thus better stability and better aim. Also far more endurance.

Started martial arts again in the form of Brazilian (Gracie) Jiu Jitsu, and will probably start cross training with Muay Thai as well. Running and cycling for fitness.

Re: What sport do you play?
Canoeing is good for arms, shoulders and core (I put on 5kgs with canoeing, majority of it went to shoulders and core). The stronger your core, the stronger and more stable you are in generalRuadRauFlessa wrote:Canoe and cycling practices your legs and stamina. It thus improves your base from which you work.
