No, it's the best I've ever seen, and the guys at cgsociety agree

His stuff is good but he uses a lot of tricks (photographic projections and such) to help his realism. The worlds best 3D artists are mostly already employed in studios and don't have websites of their own. Trust me on that.

A bit of a bold claim there Oj. I agree with Leigh here.

Oh and his photography is nothing spectacular. I was at a exhibition a few months ago of SA photographer (flip cant remember his name) and his stuff is a million time better.

Yeah. Like, take for example that street of dreams image. Photorealism is actually not that hard - anyone can do it if they know how to set up shaders and lighting properly.

For me, I judge a persons artistic merit on whether or not they can actually make interesting or expressive images, not realistic ones. Anyone can do photorealism, but not everyone can actually create art.

Photorealism can be artistic though, but I get what you're saying Leigh...

Yeah it can be, but what I meant to say what that just making a photorealistic image isn't really impressive, because anyone can do it :) What's impressive is if someone can actually make an interesting, expressive or otherwise meaningful image in CG.
