I have now got my two new babies, Honey, a 3,5 month old kitten and her mother, 15,5 month old Bomber, and they are gorgeous. Lovable and playful and comfortable to be with and them being around me. Velveteen, the previous cat I got, never felt at home with me and she was constantly hiding and running away from me. So she went back to the breeder. But Bomber and Honey are totally different. Both of them are Main Coons. Have been settling very nicely here in New Zealand, Christchurch, even with all the shakes and earthquakes, and it's wonderful here. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Glad you're settling in there dude. I must admit, if I only saw that kitten I'd think it was a fairly ugly cat. But the adults looks like a real cat. They certainly look very much at home.

The adult certainly is. The kitten is a little scruffy, don't you think. Cute, but scruffy.
Perhaps it's just because I like smooth coated cats.

I like scruffy cats too - any cats actually.

That scruffyness is a Main Coon thing and usually all kittens are like that. They grow out of it. You guys remember Storm, one of my cats here in SA? When she was a kitten she was outright ugly
and if it wasn't for the fact that I knew she was a blue smoke and turn into something gorgeous, I would have never taken her. She was ugly. But she turned into one of the most beautiful cats I've ever come across.
But she, Honey, the kitten, is extremely cute and she's a polydactyl. That becomes really cute when she plays and picks things up with her extra toes.
