Or are you talking about a normal Scoobie?

Must be, cause a WRX STi will chow that GSi turbo...

(Unless the corsa is highly highly highly modified...)
Dude. Look at the size of the car. Most people forget that.

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Seriously? I'd pay to see that happen.

Dude, you wouldn't call 153KW highly modified?

Put it like this. it's 153 Killowatt ON THE WHEELS,Roughly 195KW FLYWHEEL if you work on a 30% Power Loss, in a 950KG car.

So let's play it safe. It's a 185KW car that weighs 950KG VS a 172KW 1420KG car. It's 500KG heavier than me. A well piloted Scooby can do mid to high 13's, but the average Scooby driver does mid to high 14's on the quatermile. I run it Low 14's usually, and even recorded a 14 flat @ Tarlton. Could be better if I get my launches right cause the scooby with it's 4WD launches like a demon, while I am still wheelspinning. I still catch up to it by end of 2nd-mid third gear and hold a comfortable 2 car length gap to the traps 400m away :D.

Robot to robot, not even their 4wd and their torque help them, as by the time they start catching up, I am allready slowing down

Plus the scooby will lose a lot more power between the flywheel and wheels due to a more complex drivetrain. FWD cars are more efficient delivering the power to the wheels than RWD and 4WD cars. You need more traction though, what about wider tires and playing with the suspension a bit? Won't it help to drop the front slightly more than the rear and stiffening the rear? Or is it the other way round?

Yeah, you are right on the suspension thing though, as it's actually on my TO-Do list. My car does sit a ful 1cm lower infront than at the back allready, and yeah even something so minute actually makes a difference.

you might be able to see it in the pic, lower front, "raised rear"

Yeah I've driven in a few of those turboed corsa's before and if their suspension is setup properly they'll run away from a scooby. There's even a normally aspirated 2.0 16v Corsa B in CPT that runs in the 13's...

The new WRX STI will be a different story though, with 230kW.

Maplassie, I'll have access to a chipped BMW 335i this weekend or the next, wanna have a go at that for fun? Pushing around 240kW and 500nm ATW. :)

Just give me around 2 minutes head start

I love my cabby, I would never drive a normal aspirated car in my life again :)

I am actually lying cause my Daily driver is a 1.4 Corsa Lite. LOOOL.

That just the to work and back car.

lool. YEah dude, ou have no idea. What I usually do is get home, and before even going into the house, jump in Mielie (my turbo corsa's name) and have a quick bout around the block.

But it's murphy's law. I drive in the 1.4, and I get all these lekker cars on the road, there was a MINT MINT black RX7, huge wing and exhaust that drove next to me,man that thing was AWESOME. I once stopped between 2, yes 2 freaken ford focus ST's wich were revving at each other.

A black Evo was prowling our streets the other night, you could check the guy was looking for a race, cause he was going up and down the straights over here. THere is a guy with a Red Lotus Exige 240R, wich I wont win with my turbo but it will be a good bout, but I only ever see the guy on the way to work each morning.

I get in my car and the best I usually get is a Velocitty with a cone filter :?

This one morning, I was still VERY VERY asleep. and I saw some hot young girlies next to the road, waiting for a lift or something. SO I pushed the car, and waited for the dumpvalve as I geared right next to them. ONly to hear nothing     Wrong car LOOOOOOOOL!

It makes me sleep better :D
