Anime Musicvids
Hey guys, the holidays are almost upon most of us so that leaves us with plenty of time to vegetate and ponder the answer to life...which is anime and don't try to argue with me.
well, that's what most of us do, enough time to catch up on those 4 or 5 odd series that you really wanted to watch.
Unfortunately one has to crave for more and that's where musicvids come in. Creating something from anime can be pretty fun and is as satisfying as creating anything else.
Here's a list of musicvids i've made, these have only been distributed at local lans, if there is any place to have them hosted on the net for download then i'd really appreciate the link.
So far i have created :
GITS Innocence - Crashing Around You by Machinehead
GITS Innocence - Bright Eyes by Blind Guardian
Macross Zero - Exile by Enya
Macross Zero - The Quiet Place by In Flames
Hellgate London Cinematic Sequence - Heartless by Gardenian and Through The Black by Demon Hunter
I always make a second pass at the same clip but with different music and timing, the second time you make one you get to know the scenes a bit better and this helps to create a better musicvid. I put quite a lot of effort into them.
I'm going to start making my next vid soon, it's from the series Elfenlied and i'm using the song The Noose by Perfect Circle.
I'm thinking of putting the musicvids on a cd or dvd and sending them around the forums. I did that a while ago with Macross Zero and i hear it's still going around, i have no idea where it is at the moment.
So pm me if you are interested and i will mail you a copy.
ps. Ooh, my first thread in this wonderfull new section, i'm all jolly already!

I'm playing too.
Elfen Lied / Within Temptation -Somewhere
Coming soon...(10%done)
MovieMaker is k@k.
Kher-za PM me if you want decent tools.
And you guys can upload your videos here - www.animemusicvideos.org or if you are too shy to recieve ratings go here - www.megaupload.com
Filesize is obviously important, thus please do not upload your MPEG-2 DVD project. I see the common average is between 30-80Mb.
Anyways, this is quite a time-consuming task, so I will be a bit scarse until I'm done.

OK I am done, but have a slight problem...
I didn't know that.

I will thus not host it over at animemusicvideos.
Looking around now...
If you oke's have links please help me out.
megaupload is timing out.

I made 2 versions -
- DVD HQ MPEG-1 encoding @ 235,604kb (.mpg / 1280x960 HD)
- Windows Media encoding @ 26,961kb (.wmv / 320x240)
The sound quality was reduced to 4bit when I exported to DivX 6.1, my prefered encoder. I don't know why and I don't know how to fix it either.
No wonder these oke's are bragging about their encoding speed, it's so fast because they sacrifice quality. Honestly the diffirence between DivX and Windows Media is nothing, except that Windows Media sounds better in my case of course.
If it's a setting I don't know where to find let me know.
MPEG-1 is perfect for fullscreen viewing though but unfortunately too big to upload .
*.. megaupload is messing around again, going at 1.12kb/s and pauses every 5 minutes. Fck it I aint waiting 2 days to upload a 26Mb file...*
Anyways Nuke PM me your postal address and cel no then I'll post you the DVD quality version.
Btw here is my project log and screenshots showing the reslution quality -
Project:
1280x960 High Definition:
320x240 WMV mini-player quality:
If any of you oke's have InterVideo WinDVD Creator I will email you my project and you can add and remove from it to your hearts content.
The hard work is already done so even for beginners it will be a piece of cake.
I chose to work with Creator because the actual importing, scene-break and encoding is much faster than Cyberlink PowerProducer Gold and Ulead VideoStudio 9.0 SE.
Oh and ja a description of me little masterpiece -
Showcase : Elfen Lied
Artist : Within Temptation
Genre : Gothic Rock
Song : Somewhere
Category : Dramatic, Serious, Horror, Romance, Character Profile
Rating : Nudity, Violence
Quality : MPEG-1 HD 1280x960
Length : 04:16
Don't get the wrong impression though, it's a tear-jerker, not a hentai vid.

InterVideo WinDVD Creator.
I have 3x diffirent suites, but it was the fastest.
Encoding and splitting video kills 1Gb or RAM, and my CPU got quite a workout too.
AMD is slower at multi-media, no argument.
Anyways I tried ripping the original DVD Vector 1, scene break took 2 hours only to be halfway done, it was just too long a wait for me, so I imported the fansub .avi's instead.
Breaking them took about 10-15 minutes an episode.
Each episode has between 307 and 411 something scenes.
Then came the hard part, I had to look for my favorite scenes without any subs on them, that was a bit tricky.
Btw I have 2 copies of Creator, 4 of PowerProducer (it's useless, don't bother) and 2x of VideoStudio 9.0 (good, but very, very slow) as I have 4x office pc's, one personal and one I sold to my mom, so all the bundled software I still have.
If you want just ask.

Where can I get Sony Vegas 6?
Meaning buy, I can't download such large files.
I've done some homework and see it's quite a production suite.
And is it better than Adobe Premiere?
And also what application can I use to export to XviD and Matroska directly without having to recode the export first?
I have installed all the applicable codecs found here yet Creator and VideoStudio still does not recognize any of 'em, thus I don't have such options.
And lastly why the hell is my top-quality .mp3 soundfile reduced to 4bit when I export to DivX 6.1? My video bitrate is high, so why not the sound?

i think i'm also gonna make a movie, my friend got adobe after effects so i want to check it out and see if it's worth it
but keep in mind this may take quite a while because i have to learn to use the program first
hereis a vid made with after effects

What does man fear most? That no one will understand him, or that someone truly might?
I've seen that one.
Check out the current top-spot vid, also Naruto, Whisper Of The Beast, Megaherz.
Serious work went into that, almost every frame has been edited.
And yeah I know Adobe is good, will just wait what Kher-za has to say about Vegas before I buy anything.
If I'm gonna spend 6k on software it had better do what ever I need it to do.
