Ive tried lapping my Thermaltake Blue Ord II CPU cooler up to 1200 grit sanding paper and would like to try going higher to get the close to mirror like finish, but cant seem to find a place that sells sanding paper above 1200. Ive tried Mica, Builders Warehouse and a couple of other smaller hardware shops. I stay in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. Does anyone know where i might be able to find 1500+ grit paper????

That's odd. I use 2000 grit sandpaper, and i have NO trouble finding it anywhere. :|

Maybe a stupid question, but I suppose you still need to apply thermal paste even after lapping your HS?

You're welcome to try it on YOUR CPU ... but it's a bit TOO risky for me, thanks

Try an autobody place? I can't seem to find anything higher than 1200 either :x

_____________

I lapped my thermalright, was mortified at the poor finish. :?

I am using the Zalman paint on thermal grease. I am really impressed with the results :)

I did this to my Zalman and E2160@3.6. Temps went down by 4C. However the juice is not worth sqeeze if you plan not to overclock.
