I agree that the ref was biased throughout the game but that is not what cost us the game. First off, Anton Lennard should not have been on that field at all. He was obviously in no state to play any game let alone rugby. And then there was the overall performance of the team. Or rather the lack thereof. This was not the same team that were kicking butt all year round. They played very very bad. They made elementary mistakes that cuased them the cup. Hopefully they'll learn from this and emerge as champions again next year. But this time they deserved to loose. Congrats to the Cheetas! It's been a while since you had the cup. Enjoy it because it's gonna be another 20 years before you get it again. ;)

Well, well done to the Cheaters, oh I mean Cheetahs.

I was backing the bulls but when Leonard started taking kicks at the touchline instead of the guaranteed 3 points, I knew it was just going to go pear shaped for the Bulls.

I mean the 3rd time they take an up and under which is pretty much a 50/50 ball, manage to win it and then Hougard tries a drop goal and misses. I mean tries in a Currie Cup final are not as important as the points on the board. There is no bonus points to be had. I am sorry but the captain needs to take a large percentage of the blame for this loss.

Oh yes and it was nice to see the underdogs win. Man I wish I was in Bloem for the after party. The cricket spectators still looked a little goofed on sunday. :D

Cheetahs!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Did anyone perhaps record this on DVD? I want to watch Brian Habana's face, sitting on the ground after the loss, over and over again. Priceless!

The Bulls were WAY overconfident, not taking those 6 extra points. In the end, that would have won them the game.

*sigh* No need to say anything ... :-)

edit - What I find annoyingly "funny" is that on Friday the Cheethas had NO votes going for them on the poll - now all of a sudden there is 5 votes ??? WTF ???

Brian H's face was just as classic after he saw that yellow... he he he Kodak moment.

I agree with the overconfidence as well as the fact that Leonard's insistance to play when he should have known better, was a bit lacking character. I also found his choices on the field not so lekke. (Kicking for space close to the tryline in stead of taking 3 points... twise.) I dont think the ref was biased or flawed in any way. He might have let one or two Cheetha mistakes slip, but so did he on the Bulls side. All in all a good game.

Ja ja, don't worry. You can't always win and neither can you always loose. If you remember the bulls rose from being one of the worst teams to being the best for a long time. Maybe the Cheeta's season has begun. ;)
