Sorry for bringing this back.

I found this supplier http://www.intellistor.co.za

They can supply Plextor drives in south africa. I was looking at the PX - 716AL (Slot loading DVD writer) for my mod and found these guys. The don't supply very much else in the modding scene but these are the best drives there are and I thought everyone should know.

I just googled a search for laser cutting and I have to say I was wrong. a 6kW laser can only cut upto about 32mm thick mild steelplate or at least the model I looked at from http://www.fanuc.co.jp/en/product/new_p ... 6000e.html.

So who wants to make a mod using 32mm mild steel plating?

Posted: 07 Feb 2006, 09:13
by RuadRauFlessa
Dude you know how thick 32mm is?

That thing can propably cut through 5mm of 18/10 or titanium for that matter.
