Late reply but...Synthesis wrote:Unfortunately I'm not a hardcore-gamer (just the odd CnC3 and NFS now and then) so I still run with an ATI Radeon 9800. But pretty soon I'll have a rig that can handle this screen on EXTREME high resolutions for games. I couldn't believe the difference in shadows on farcry on this LCD compared toa 17"CRT. It's amazingly realistic and beautiful.
you do realize that the max res on that screen is 1366 x 768 and it hardly helps at all with design...
Everything just looks bigger and will without a doubt look worse for design.
Trust me on this as I own a 32" LCD, 22" , 20" and a 19"
Nothing compares to the 22" for design.

Yes, I understand full well. That's why I said somewhere it's a good upgrade if you're into entertainment. Mainly movies and games etc. It's big enough for me to design a webpage on that I don't scroll and most of my graphic work as well. Of course I would rather go for the philips or BenQ for R13k for a extreme resolution but beggars can't be choosers. For a cheaper price yes I would go for a 22" or 26" instead of this one but it's a long story of how I got it. It was just meant as a standard TV screen.maxxis wrote:Late reply but...Synthesis wrote:Unfortunately I'm not a hardcore-gamer (just the odd CnC3 and NFS now and then) so I still run with an ATI Radeon 9800. P.S. Yes, it looks worse for design (pixelated or crappy antialising effect) but in a way it helps because now I notice "glitches" and after I get it perfect on this screen it end up looking amazing on a standard display.

They're going to "unreveal" their latest concept? So, what are they going to do - open the store and then cover everything with black curtains?

You have to ask yourself how nobody in the design or printing process picked that up

It reminds me of my trip to the Somerset West branch a few weeks ago to pick up an ADSL modem. The conversation went something like this:
Shop assistant: "Oh, that's an unusual surname! Is it German?"
Me: "No, it's Irish actually."
<Shop assistant looks confused for about 6 seconds>
Shop assistant: "Are you sure it's not German?"
Me: "I'm pretty sure it's Irish."
Shop assistant: "Isn't Ireland in Germany?"
