I was pretty shocked the other day. I hate house/trance/rave/whatever/Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss music due to three reasons:

NO musical skill is required to write it.
NO musical skill is required to play it.
It sucks

But then I heard a house/trance/rave/whatever/Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn remix of Fear Factory - Flashpoint (by Chosen Few). It actually sounded cool. I don't know why. Maybe because some of the original skill from Fear Factory remained in the song.

Have any of you guys heard Roadrunner United? Roadrunner Records, as you hopefully know, is the main record label for all the really heavy metal bands. They chose four captains out of all the artists who are signed under them. The captains then each chose the best bandmembers they could find to form four "elite" bands. The bands then each played a couple of songs. There's also a DVD about it. Apparently INSANE.

Slipknot is NOT christian. I think he is just talking about a genre. Speaking of which, POD is not like slipknot at all. Demon Hunter is christian yes. They are awesome. The only heavy metal I would listen to, cause they sing too. A band like Haste the Day. Pass please! yuk.

dude, don' knock it. trust me it sounds easy to make, but thats probably cos you have only heard stuff played on cheesy 5fm or some other such source. (brooklyn bounce and that crap). The real stuff is much more complex and intricate. As for playing it - you should see carl cox spin 5 records live and make it sound like 1 song...

but rock rocks too...offspring rules, of local bands, I am pretty impressed with scarlet box, they really rock.

Dude sorry to blow your bubble but anyone that plays drums is called a percussionist. Go check out Percussion. So unless they were actually the verry first band in SA they can't be the first to use a percussionist.

im going. mr Raudrauflessa is cool and all but too on the nail with details.

he meant first (as in first band he's seen) to use a percussionist (like bongo's and all that gay stuff!) cos you'd normally refer to a drummer as a drummer.
