Our latest edition (we already have two cats and a three-year-old golden Cocker Spaniel). Unless a certain three-year-old redhead changes her mind drastically by the time I get home from work, this one will be named Einstein.

The people who stay in the garden cottage on our property have a Jack Russell puppy. It's about ten weeks old now, and just figured out yesterday how to get to our place. They both work full day during the day and leave the puppy outside, so it spent the day playing at our house yesterday.

Edit: And came back at 5:30 this morning when they let is outside (evidently unattended).

Aah Stuart, awesome spaniel that! :D

Man, I need to post pics of my pets. Updated ones at least. We've got two new additions (4 actually, but I honestly don't like the other two, so I don't consider them mine :P)

This isn't my cat, but he looks exactly like that. He doesn't have a name. He is just known as "Die Kat" and responds to kietsie. He has been a great cat ever since his gonads were removed. :)

I then have a young brown Boerboel named Ozzie (named by my brother before he gave him to us), and two bastards. One is Max (short for Maximilian) a male mix (0.5 Dalmatian and 0.5 black Labrador) and Cloe (derived from her original name, Kloaak) a female mix (Dalmatian, Labrador, Fox terrier, etc, etc). Max is the man of the yard, despite being half the size of Ozzie and nearing his twilight years.

Lovely cat - used to have one like that (but much fatter) called Pooky.

@KK get a rat - had one called Garbo, very intelligent creatures.

@mouse - love your puppy

@Ronny - now I know what you meant

When I was in high school and still living at home, I had two rats: an English Hooded rat named Cluny and Mariel, a white rat originally destined to be snake food.

Our neighbour's Jack Russell puppy is called Fireball. He was over at our place this afternoon playing with Einstein. Suddenly, I head crinkling paper and went over to see what was happening. He had a (still wrapped) Fireball in his mouth. What are the odds?

On a side note, I'd almost forgotten that puppy = ungodly hours of the morning. :(

They do indeed - toilet trips. Good luck.

My neighbours have 4 Jack Russels - 2 are little pups.

This is Duke. About 1 year old here.

Image

Rescued him for my girlfriend on the farm. Rapes and murders are increasing in the Mooi River farm areas and wanted to get a her a companion who is protective. Unfortunately he and the fox-terrier on the farm got into a fight. Instead of letting the dogs sort out their hierarchy and give it a few more days, the land owner wants him gone.

I contacted a friend who is in the SAPS K9 Search & Rescue and is coming over today to take him hopefully. If it works he will be adopted and trained into the K9 Search & Rescue Unit and probably be sent all over the world.

At least he will be taken care of. Rather than tied up all day and fed rice by some other folks.

Very sad day

This is Duke with my folks dog.

Pahhh, I see your Serbian furball and raise you my boerboel. But be warned that they tend to be overly protective of their owner and are attention hogs.

Training for Serbian furball:

1. Attach collar and leave in wilderness.
2. If he comes back in 1 piece, he is trained.

Also, I would rather have a working furball than a a dog with hip or elbow dysplasia.
