No, the real excuse was "I forgot my password, and the e-mail address I registered with doesn't exist any more so I can't reset it".

I receive several queries of this nature, usually via HQ. In almost all cases, it's impossible for me to verify the identity of the person, so my standard response is to inform the person that I will not restore access to the account, and to register a new account. However, I know very well who the person behind ADT is, so in this case, an exception was made.
