Congrats DS. My son will be going for his learners soon - the the teaching begins. Not sure I am the best one to teach him though.

We have a car that has been sitting in the garden for about 3 years - not on blocks. So it needs new tyres, battery and needs the oil flushed. Anyone know of someone who will be willing to come here and do it? A mechanic of course.

My car sat outside doing nothing for about the same amount of time, but it was used every now. I still have not got all the small leaves out from beneath the housing for all the computer modules and fuse boxes :( because that is where the run off from the windscreen goes :?

//But at least it now lives inside, only just fits in 3rd gauge though....have to basically touch the wall for the door to clear the towbar

But as I said, the car occupies all of the space in there, even getting out the car once it is in is difficult

Stolen. 11 days ago. Amazed the police found it though. But then we get the feeling kids stole it and took it joy riding by the condoms in the cubby and how it was smashed. Even the back seat was ripped out.

Mmmm an ATM was blown up a few kms away - a few blocks away from where my friend stays. You know - the one who had her car stolen and then had to sell it when they found it cause there was way too much damage.....

Interesting times - interesting times. I need to go and fight with my garage as my car I spent an absolute fortune servicing is making a screeching noise when I start it. Sounds like some sort of belt - but then what would I know :P Just a female. But that has to wait until after the dentist, play rehearsal, fetching kids ........ ah it will have to wait for Monday.

That is what I thought. Strangely it interferes with my gate opener. When the car just starts I cannot open the gate but if I switch off the engine then it opens lol

That will be a 323 sting then. Yep those rather liked by car thieves :?

This is why DIY servicing is best

Fan belt I would say. But as it was in for a service recently I suspect that they might have changed it and then not tightened up the tensioner enough causing the belt to slip

meh but speaking of fan belts I need a new one soon, and it appears that only Mercedes in the middle of Jo'burg have it :?

Yep they were driving along and the oil warning light came on at which point they stopped, opened the bonnet and noticed that there was quite a lot of oil sitting in the tray below the engine....
