But from what I can see the whole 6 in the morning thing is just a way to mess with the first years..........So I will arrive at 8:45 because the program says that, that is when it is supposed to start.

at UFS all people have to take a language proficiency test... you fail it you have to take either English or Afrikaans as a subject as well...
those studying anything BSc related has to also take the maths test... you fail it you take the bridging maths subject...

It is the same here, although you dont have to do a Maths test.....just as long as you got over 60% for it in matric.
