By default you say? Build and material quality I would agree would definitely be good, but audio quality is a very subjective matter what sounds good to one person might not sound good to another.

Speaking of bose I discovered something interesting about my car. A 8 speaker bose surround system was optional in the late 90's and it just so happens that the original owner had it fitted

Now I know why it sounds epic :D

Have no idea, have never actually been in an audi. But it sounds so balanced, bass where there should be bass treble where there should be treble and its so clear and sharp too........wipes the floor with some of my friends custom systems.

You must hear what some of the songs on Pink Floyd's the dark side of the moon sounds like(Time, us and them, breath...)

cmon people

BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment

for the price - BOSE is actually overpriced junk - if it was priced at 1/5th of what it goes for then it may be okay cos thats what it is worth actually

im not trolling

sound is subjective .... what one person says is good sound could actually sound like wet clothes flapping on a clothesline on a windy day to another person

YET

nevertheless there are ways to figure out what really sounds good - and unfortunately Bose is not in the good sound category - Bose is okay but not much more than that and for the price they are an incredible ripoff to most people who actually know a bit about audio quality

the biggest problem most people have with Bose is that they charge amazing prices based on the reputation of their really old stuff from around 30 to 40 years ago which was good but the new stuff does not live up to that reputation and nowadays for around a fifth of that price you will get other brands that perform to a very similar level ..... so while it definitely is a bonus to you cos you did not pay for it (sure i will take Bose stuff for free but if i had to pay for it i would rather decline having it :P ) it is not worth the amount originally paid for it and no-one in the actual audio field actually considers it a premium brand anymore

as an example i would rather use logitech Z5500 computer speakers instead of the comparable size Bose system cos it will perform around identically (note: subjective opinion) at a fifth of the price

okay so enough of the Bose bashing .... suffice it to say that if i started naming brands that are better as well as cheaper than Bose we would both be sitting at our computers for a very long time YET if it makes you happy then i cannot argue with you - its great for your circumstances until you hear the better stuff and realize for yourself that Bose is mostly hype
