car probably isnt standard - or maybe he was lucky and got the one with 168kw - the standard car is 147kw and only good for 230km/h on a flat road - going downhill it might hit that 240IcePick88 wrote:240km/h in a 2007 VW Golf GTI. Yikes that car is fasT!
but yeah i agree that its a fast car - even faster when its got an ECU remap - cos ive seen a few Revo stage 2 cars going up to 192 kw - so yeah with a bit of work done to them those cars are real screamers
Asus Z68-V Pro/Gen3, i5-3570k, 16GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1600, Gigabyte Radeon HD6970 OC graphics card, Corsair H100 liquid cpu cooling, Lite-on Blu-ray burner, Western Digital Raptor X HDD, Gigabyte Sumo 5115 modded case, Samsung P2770 monitor
yip you right. It's the one with the DSG gearbox and the whole trip.
It has a Garret T3 Turbo with 1.2 bar boost. Performance exhaust, dropped suspension, like you said mapped ECU, ported and lots of ICE!

Although my fastest in a car was 200 in a friend's 1.6 accent, I pushed my 92 Ballade Luxline to about 190 on the clocks, which is quite an accomplishment for that little 1500
Also did about 230 on my K4 GSX-R 750 before common sense got hold of me and I backed off. Was chasing a blackbird when I got scared
All speeds recorded on the clocks of said vehicles.

Hey I have that Max Power! That R34 was YOURZZZZ!?!?!?!MadMike wrote:awesome car, sold it 14 months ago. you might have seen it in the Max Power some time ago, silver with carbon hood. i suppose you think that your corsa is fast - what bull - if your corsa was left standard you wont even smell the exhaust on a gtiMaplassie_GTR wrote:LOOOOOOOOOOL!IcePick88 wrote:240km/h in a 2007 VW Golf GTI. Yikes that car is fasT!
Erm, NO.
maybe they "feel" fast, but they really really aren't
are you also of the opinion that a golf cannot be modified too - i bet a revo stage two gti would hand you your bottom
so dont try to jump too high - the gti is way faster stock standard than anything you can afford stock standard and brand new
the gti has also won many more accolades that mean anything than your corsa - for example it won the fifth gear car of the year for 2004 - whilst im sure your corsa would have won dud of the year if it featured on their programs - this should demonstrate that a car is a subjective thing - and you are not the only one who is right about cars (though IMHO you are rarely ever right about them anyway) - purely based on the many derogatory comments about vauxhall/opel on that particular program - and i would rather listen to Tiff Needell and Jason Plato and even Vicki Butler Henderson than to listen to you and your constant diatribes about how crap VW's are - they still outsell Opel by a long Margin in SA - so all you Opel idiots cannot put your money where your mouth is
BTW i dont ever suppose anyone really finds that LOOOOOOL even remotely clever - whoTF really ever says "laughing out out out out out out ...... (you get the idea) loud" so get real with the acronyms

Hit a nerve t here did I. Obviously you are one of those standard typical fanboys. Go and read my post again. I never said a MODIFIED golf was not fast. I said a Golf 5 isn't fast. Stock they suck. and yes my corsas is fast, cause it's modified.
You can't come here and say that if my corsa was stock a GTi would rape me, because A) MY corsa aint stock, and B) Gti's are stil slow
haha.
Secondly, I would do my homework before I post something like that, cause I am not a normal "opel vs VW" dude, like you seem to be.
Do your F-ing homework, 2 of my previous cars were modified golfs FOOL!
you say this
My corsa ran a 14.0 second flat at Tarlton. on higher boost "with witnesses" when the timing equipment was off, I outpaced an Evo8. The evo8 ran a 14.1, and I had him with mroe than 2 car lengths, so my car is capable of doing high 13second runs. you call that slow? There are VERY VERY few Golfs, even REVO golfs in our country that do that. and yes, I have been owned, and badly at that running against GTi's.naughty wrote:i suppose you think that your corsa is fast - what bull
ANd sir please tell me what car you drive to come tell me my 14/high 13 second car is slow?
OH I only saw this one now.
dude, man you made me laugh.naughty wrote:so dont try to jump too high - the gti is way faster stock standard than anything you can afford stock standard and brand new
Again throwing accusations around like you are the shizzit.
I am 25, bought a house worth 850K, I drive 2 cars, and am busy ordering a Corsa OPC (wich is costing me close to 240K), but oh sorry, a little puny golf 5, no I can't afford that.
Best you get your fact's straight before you come here and slander mkay?
PS. I do recognise that I made a mistake of comparing my highly modded corsa, to a stock Golf5. they ARE good cars, I will never argue with that.
So my mistake on that part.
