Re: Your "physical" desktop at home - photos ?
heres how mine looks now - please note that this is just a temporary setup - it is due to change cos im changing the size of the monitor
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/reciever.jpg)
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/subwoofer.jpg)
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/positioning2.jpg)
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/onespeaker.jpg)
all of these were taken while it was a work in progress - but if i get the 32" full HD tv im planning on then im taking the HD DSTV into my room as well as my bluray player as well (for now the SD DSTV will do fine in the lounge and in terms of a blu-ray player im planning on some upgrades on that front
the 32" TV will work fine as a pc monitor at a res of 1920x1080 especially considering that it will be wall mounted and that PC rack will no longer be in the room - that will then go into the lounge to house one of the other machines in the network as will that 22"monitor
some interesting changes coming up to my setup soon - watch this space - i hope it will finish off being something worth seeing

Thanks man, trusty case has been with me many a year now.
Re: Your "physical" desktop at home - photos ?
okay - got my new monitor and now this is what the setup looks like currently
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/monitorsetup.jpg)
this is still all temporary - as you can see that the new monitor is too big for the rack - so im going to get something sorted out so that i can place all the HT equipment on a rack and more or less mount the monitor in a free standing position possibly in a wall mount type of form
heres a scan of a quick pencil sketch of the idea i have for the rack - this rack will be painted black (i really need to learn how to use sketchup to do things like this)
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/roughsketch3.jpg)
i will be fabricating some sort of method to use that extendable wall arm that i have for the monitor - also those JVC speakers will be mounted onto some speaker stands - these will be kind of constructed along the lines of these pictured here
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/hometheatre/ralphspeakerstands.jpg)
if you remember i had two sets of these speakers - a buddy of mine bought a set from me and these are the speaker stands he sort of constructed - so im going to probably use a similar idea or two and make a set of full black speaker stands - he is using MDF (supawood) for the base and steel curtain rod for the legs - and he gets these really cheap ie around R50 for a metre of the 38mm diameter curtain rod in brass or chrome or black
the speaker wall mounts that i have will be used for the rear speakers and i will be using lots of the stuff i had already done for the old idea i had of the false wall for the PC setup - all of that stuff wont go to waste cos i will be using half of it anyway

Give the guy a break. Perhaps he stumbled across THAT WEBSITE that we were talking about before he looked at the mod logs to see who merged the threads.Ron2K wrote:Do I look like the Rat?
