CPU @ 60'C should not be to much of a issue. I know CoreTemp reports my TJMax to be +- 90'C the highest I have seen my i7 load was 50'C so far...

I am wondering if the draw from the i7 proc and the GPU might be a tad much for the PSU. But the question that make the most sense right now, are you OC'ing?

^^ CPU, but there could still be a software issue causing it

CPU, and the temps aren't the problem, but try reseating your cooler to lower your temps. Its not healthy:) What's your idle temps?
I dont believe its a hardware fault, because of the dddddddddddd sound its sounds like software to me... Could be wrong...

Slim I had that same sound when I had all of my previously mentioned power issues.

That cpu temp is still a little high- it probably isn't the problem, but like slim said, it's unhealthy.

is my GPU temp okay thou?

i am contemplating to buy an aftermarket cooler, did some research and the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ seems to be highly recomended

where can i purchase 1 of these and how much am i going to spend?

GPU temps are generally higer than CPU temps, and judging by what the others said, it's ok, I guess- I'm not an expert on gpu's.

I buy from Sybaritic. I've never had any issues with service, pricing delivery or anything else. Great place to buy from imho. They do sell the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler, though it seems they're only expecting stock round middle December.

Right lets have some fun...

To test if the GPU is causing your lock ups download this tool called furmark:
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

It will stress test the video card and you will either see mass artifacts indicating a GPU failure or it will carry on just fine. If it locks up it could also point to a GPU failure.

Also stress test your CPU to cover all bases, follow the guide linked below to use Prime95 for stress testing your CPU:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10 ... ime95.html

All you are looking for is your PC to hang so you should not need to run either test for longer than 10 minutes since the hang happens as soon as you are in game. Also since we are testing individual components we should be able to identify where the problem lies.

If both pass with no issues then it might be a case of your PSU not being able to hold the load. So maybe try running both at the same time? Or use Sisoftware Sandra:

http://www.sisoftware.net/

To stress test the whole machine for stability.

RRF when I had power issues my pc would spontaneously reboot. I wasnt aware that the pc hangs under high current load. Oh and Sabs when you use Prime please watch your temps closely! This app stresses your cpu to the max, if your temps reach past 80c stop the test. 90c is the limit.
And with regards to which cooler you should use. The Hyper 212+ is awesome:)

I aint RRF ;).

True re the power and restarts but stranger things have happened in the land PC's. Still better to test components individually first before just buying a cooler only to find it was not the problem ;).

A faulty PSU under load can cause power spikes/dips as well, which could cause the PC to hang. Might also cause vdroop problems, which could cause your pc to hang I think, but that would more probably be your motherboards fault. Do you have RAM and PSU you can borrow to swop out and test?

howzit guys i ran the tests ANAKHA56 said to do

on furmark i ran the test for 10mins the max temp my gpu went up to was 85 c

on prime95 in the torture test window i ran each test for 10min:

-small FFTs my max temps wer: 79 82 83 80

-in-place large FFTs:my pc FROZE (had 2 restart computer manually)

-blend:my max temps wer: 79 78 80 79

Running Prime95 and furmark at the same time:

-ran for 5min max temps wer: 77 83 82 80 gpu: 83

OMG those temps are high! That at least shows me how the stock cooler performs. My cpu reaches those temps at 5Ghz! But now does the pc freeze in the same way it does in game?

Are you able to get your hands on another psu to use for a few minutes? Then we can test if its your psu thats giving you hassles.
