+1 On dynamic vs static contrast ratio. Also, mostly (AFAIK), the difference between a 2ms and 5ms response time is only how it is measured. 5ms would be white, to black, to white again; 2ms would white to black only, if I remember correctly. That Philips looks nice.

Howzit guys, yet another late night, working well into the night... :?
I'm getting just a "lil" impatient with the purchase now :? But I'll hang in there. I don't want to regret buying, simply coz I didn't do enough research.

Pilgrim- Yip,that's the Phillips I was refering to. As for Dynamic vs Static Contrast Ratio, the link was very informative(thanks) but now between the Phillips and the Samsung mentioned previously, which would be a better choice??

Slimshady - thanks for the great advise man,I really appreciate it. As for response times, would a montior say with 20milion:1 5ms, be a worse choice then a 5million:1 2ms monitor? Keeping inmind that I use 3D Modeling Software, as well as game.

I'm awaiting the latest Sahara pricelist, will inform u guys what the different monitors cost.

Lastly, I'm I better off buying a LCD or a LED monitor(23")?

Personally I would go with the 2ms screen. And LED is sharper and the colour is more vivid thand LCD screens. So I would go with the LED:)

Hi guys.
I'm planning on buying the new monitor end of the month.
I'm getting a 23" 2ms 5 or 20mil:1 ratio.
So 2 last questions:
1. Which would be the best brand monitor to buy; samsung, phillips, dell, lg, benQ.
2. Has any1 have experience with AOC monitors? This brand is rediculously cheap. 23" LED's for 1.2k

Thanks for all the help thus far, u guys have been a great help :)
Fred.

I'd go with the Samsung monitor. And you will be happier with a brand that has been tried and trusted, I don't like cheap stuff, because then it will look cheap, feel cheap and most important perform cheap, most of the time. It probably won't last as long as a decent brand.
