They gave me a sample of that the other day .. I'll admit it was decent but by no means as good as I expected ...

Before I stopped drinking coffee I was addicted to Ciro Blue Label. Not sure if that's the classic one or not?

none. home roasted beans... i wish
...
i did some research on using a pocorn maker only to be informed that, given how i was preparing to import green beans to roast, i have a problem and need to quit while i'm ahead...
there are
sources of good beans, if you know where to look... best if used within 3 days of roasting... and without a doubt the best coffee you will ever taste.

Jacobs Chronat Gold
Anyone else notice how expensive coffee has become very recently?
A big bottle of Jacobs used to cost about R50, now it cost more than R70 8O
Even Ricoffee used to be R25-30, now R40

I have this coffee that comes from the Lowveld. I remember we bought it from a family who lives on a farm somewhere there about 10 years ago. It am delishus.
I use it sparingly though, don't have much left.
When I don't drink that I drink Koffiehuis.

depending on the bean, between 3 and 4 hours slow roasting up to around 400/420 degrees, (bean will have caramelized and lost a degree of bitterness)
grind and process while the bean is still warm...
best... coffee... ever... (i'm not an addict!)

Pup .. excuse the ignorance (I'm a specialist in everything BUT coffee)
roasting in a normal household oven?
special grinding and processing equipment required?
What coffee machine do you use to filter it, or are you still old school on that?

anybody else reckon that the taste of the coffee also depends on how you brew it?

@beerman: i'm far from being an expert
anything to do with coffee... most of my knowledge has to do with a passing acquaintance with a roaster in pretoria
...
check out
talk about coffee for some in-depth info...

yes... grinds brewed over 190 degrees tend to turn bitter very quickly.. (airline coffee has got to be one of the worst offenders in this regard...)

If you pressurise water you would increase its boiling point.
