The three symbol designs, snazzy as they might be, are too subjective to critique unless they have some sort of applied function.

We can't critique the characters on the conceptual side because they fall under the label of fanart. We can't critique on the formal elements such as anatomy, lighting, composition, line, tone or style because they were copied. We can't really critique on accuracy and mark making quality because that improves only with practice.

So what do you want us to say?

So accidentally I was helpful, by accident.

What I mean with the crosses is that I find them impressive. You asked for advice but what can we say? If the elements used in them are symbolic of something then they work. An advertisement, logo, signage, page layout or some other form of graphic design is easier to give advice on because they have a set function and hench limitations.

As symbols they work, so I don't really have anything to say.

Steve Gordon! Although I think most of his digital colour works sucks balls his lineart is pretty pimp. I keep grabbing at my sketch book while looking at it. Very inspirational. The action poses of Nightcrawler most of all.

Chin up, soldier. On another forum I browse there are multiple threads with the same idea (but the users vote, no judges, and the winner chooses the next subject). It's an effective way to improve because the subject matter isn't always all that easy and it's a fun community building exercise.

So...

Perhaps someone should take over the whole deal: Create a new thread, set a deadline, etc. Things never get done when there's no deadline. And if it were a weekly (or every two weeks or whatever) thing then it would build interest, instead of waiting for people to care.

I feel like going for it, but I'll have to sleep on it to see if I still feel like going for it tomorrow. Procrastination!

@ GrEteL_GrAy Do you draw on request? I have something specific I want. I have been looking for someone to draw and refine something (if I dont like original) for me. I am willing to pay, as long as you can give an estimate of how long it will take etc etc etc. It would have to be via PM, as it would be for a greyscale tattoo, and I dont want images etc being public. It would be fully 100% my original (or your interpretation of my words). Would you be willing to quote me if I give you a spec?
