he has a very different way of writing, he tell it like it is in a funny way. he's been a journalist since he left school and if his publishers don't like him, why is he still writing then...

because he's a dysfunctional man-child who is blessed to inhabit a planet packed to the rafters with 30+yr old children... :/

@stuart: i'm thinking it's not working as advertised:
  • blood of elves == harry potter and the half blood prince - not ruddy likely
the moon is a harsh mistress == the moon is a harsh mistress and a swath of stephanie meyer crud - kill it with fire
all quiet on the western front == multiple versions of all quiet on the western front - o...kay... so i should read it again?
they're using REGEX, which has nothing whatsoever to do with content... given the amount of dan brown/stephanie meyer/rowling suggestions i'm thinking the site needs to be expunged from the internet with extreme prejudice...

in this respect, nobody beats a librarian... i don't see that changing any time soon...

^^ Ja, I found that myself. I only tested it after posting the link. :? Put in a particular title there and it just spews out every other book written by the same author.

Today, we spend the hour, in a national broadcast exclusive, with world-renowned British novelist John le Carré, the pen name of David Cornwell. Le Carré’s writing career spans half a century, during which he has established himself as a master spy writer.

David Cornwell worked in the British Secret Services from the late 1950s until the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War.

Good old spy stories... :)

The new cover of Crossroads of Twilight is one of my least favorites so far. Okay it depicts a critical point in the Blacksmith’s story but I think a scene featuring Mat and The DOM would have been better.

Wow I must say Michael Komarck rendition of this amazing scene takes my breath away, I just had to re read chapter 27 “ A Plain Wooden Box
Some people complain the Min looks a little too much like a “China Doll “

Last night I finished reading The Towers of Midnight prologue, Distinctions. I noticed that Brandon used the word "tempest" again but other than that, I had no complaints. I can’t wait for the 2nd of November.

I know that Peter Dinklage has been cast as Tyrion Lannister, Sean Bean as Ned Stark and Lena Headey (known for playing Sarah Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Cersei Lannister.

I figure it is best to wait for this series to come out on DVD/Bluray because I want all the extras. In the meantime I hope that he brings out "A Dance with Dragons"

I've often thought about reading The Wheel of Time, but with 14 books that are VERY long, I just don't know anymore. It would be very easy to lose the story with so much reading. For me, at least.

I have so many books on my shelf that I have to get to. Anyhow, I'm just about done with Steven Erikson's first book in The Malazan Book of the Fallen series, Gardens of the Moon and I must say that it's really good thus far. The magic system is very intriguing. I finally got around to buying the first Wheel of Time book! All that remains is reading it :)

Hey Cap. Gosh! Erikson is just amazing. I've just fallen in love with his characters and the world they inhabit. I'm done with Gardens of the Moon and while I wait to get Deadhouse Gates I'm reading Ian C. Esslemont's Night of Knives. Have you read it and Return of the Crimson Guard?

A friend of mine tells me that Esslemont's writing isn't as good as Erikson's.

Anyhow, my favourite line in the book is: "It's a bad smell when sorcerers panic". The way Erikson writes is beautiful.

Anyone read Chris D'Lacey - got 4 books from one series from a friend. I believe that they start out as kids books but don't end up that way.
