So I just got a quote from Suzuki Motorcycle Mecca on new valves: :?
  • 16x oil seals (valve stem seals) R461.92
  • 16x Exhaust valves R5 540.72
  • 16x Inlet valves R4 359.92
  • 1x Cylinder head gasket R507.14
  • 16x shims R835.68
  • Total EXCL: R11 705.38
Parts only, excluding VAT.

WTF?? :x

Been there, done that, but that was on my previous 94 model, which also had a set of inlet valves at 2k4 total, so no, I don't want to know the price of K4 rings :?

One of those long sedan types with the 4 exhausts, didn't catch the model number. Maybe those s500/600's? or whatever they're called, sl or something.

Edit:

something like this, but with 4 exhausts- CLS, I think?

Edit 2: Also worth noting, the run wasn't from a stand still, the merc was doing about 80~ish, so they had a rolling start to work with. Still very surprising though.

The only thing that sounds better than that is a thumping one litre twin, or the big bang R1, or a 500 stroker. Okay no, clearly not on the top of my "oh my crap that sounds awesome" list.

NCR Millona 16

Image
Take one Ducati Desmosedici RR, replace the fairing, tank, frame, swingarm, subframe, tailpiece, fender and wheels (and paddock stand!) with extra lightweight, extra swoopy carbon fiber and you're only about half way to creating the NCR Millona 16.

It'll never make it past the design board. They also made a concept of a lambo about the same time that came to light.

Speaking of concepts, one I really wouldn't mind seeing become reality is that R8 a few pages back- not that I like Yamaha, but a 750 competitor would rock!

Kawasaki Ninja 400R
My dad and I have felt for a long time that there's this big gaping hole in the biking industry right around the 400cc class. If they pull it off, this bike can plug that hole nicely. It makes for a perfect transitional bike coming from a 125cc before going on to the big boys, and then there's always the ladies' market...
