Got the new Deftones album. Pretty cool, except for the fact that Linkin Park and their stench is everywhere. Why Deftones, why!!!!

The new Deftones album is EPIC and in no way do I hear any of Linkin Park's Stench on the album lol...

In my mind Linkin Park popularized the whole techno/remix nonsense (Reanimation is poop enough to make me want to vomit) and some of the songs on the new Deftones album reeks of it. Just like I blame David Beckham for the mohawk resurgence. I guess I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to rock music. Play me Machine Head or Territory Live from Sepultura and I will gain the ability to do nearly anything, but this techno/remix nonsense is not for me.

I guess I just really hate techo that much.

Interesting...I too hate Techno with a passion and can't stand anything Linkin Park spewed forth after their two first albums, but for me, Deftones have their own unique sound. I know they have there sampling beeps and bops but I wouldn't call it techno...far from it. If you listen to Team Sleep, Chino's side band, it has a more of a Techno vibe, but even that is more dreamy. I guess to each their own...

Say what i also say, no way man, there's no LP vibes in the new Deftones cd, uhhm there a bit much more hardcore than P, and they've got their own individual sound

Shoo, yea comparing Around the Fur to their latest album is quite a change, but it still has that Deftones sound which I love so much...the melodic and brutality mix is just incredible...on that note, time to listen to the their latest album again hehe...

Yes! It is AMAZING! One of their best CD's out...I got the new Stone Sour CD named, Audio Secrecy. It's not bad, quite mellow. Still listening to it though...but I am in Love with Avenged Sevenfold at the moment...Listening to all their stuff...
