You'll be surprised how many people believe all that. Oh by the way check out how many earthquakes and places being flooded are happening at the moment. it is because of the winged planet being close by and it's and the earth’s magnetic fields interacting and also interacting with the high amount of iron in that fault line in the Atlantic ocean causing the plates to shift much more. those places being flooded is on plates being pushed under neighbouring plates and thus losing elevation compared to see level etc.....
And if you want a story read the scifi series Area 51 by Robert Doherty found it kinda interesting how he incorperated all kinds of legends etc into it
