Ron's meagre attempt at making decent trance: click click (you may have to right click and choose "Save As")
(That "Dreams Will Fade" is absolutely awesome, by the way - I want a high quality version!)

Kia kaha, Kia māia, Kia manawanui.
if you like cakewalk and cubase - you should try fruity loops and reasoncapanno wrote:Anyone know of a good music composing program? Not something that makes beat loops and "excuse-for-music-styles" like hip/hop, dance, techno etc. Should have lots of instrument synths. Cakewalk or Cubase?
Asus Z68-V Pro/Gen3, i5-3570k, 16GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1600, Gigabyte Radeon HD6970 OC graphics card, Corsair H100 liquid cpu cooling, Lite-on Blu-ray burner, Western Digital Raptor X HDD, Gigabyte Sumo 5115 modded case, Samsung P2770 monitor
Cool, thanks Ron. Yeah it is quite different - which is why I like it. But then again, I made it, so of course i'm going to like it.Ron2K wrote:It's a nice refreshing change from what I'm used to. Gets my vote of approval.
(I'm already trying to work out how to incorporate it into my next set.)
Your next set? I thought you gave up DJing to become a l33t programmer?

Sup people. Thanks to Futs, my rig is finally up and running again.
Bad news: My hard drive is cased. All my projects, work and other music is gone and as far as my VST instuments and effects are concerned, I have to start over again.
Anyway, all I have to do now is wade through the nightmare of wires and reconnect my sampler, midi controllers and mixer, then i can start to produce again.
I think the kick drum you used sounds a bit too 90's techno-ish. You can get some decent free drums, hats, snare, etc. for free at www.vipzone-samples.com.
I think you chose the right instrument for your main lead, but I would suggest that you could may try shortening the attack a bit and add some delay. Also, try replacing the instrument for your intro with a saw-type synth and add reeverb to it and see how it comes out

I really like the main lead when and what you done near the end when it all comes together.Ron2K wrote:Ron's meagre attempt at making decent trance: click click (you may have to right click and choose "Save As")

Sup people.
Made another track last night. I don't know if you guys ever heard that tune "Walk alone" by East Clubbers before, but here's my remix

Nice!
As far as arrangement goes, I can't fault you. It all flows nicely!
If I may suggest something, the kick drum sounds very generic. For that specific drum-loop you got going there, how bout trying out a few hip-hop style kickdrums?
If you want, I can email you a few
