Car Audio

Post by BillaBoy »

Hey ppl

Any of you into car audio?? I bought 2x Audiobahn 12" Subs AW1206T. Now they are 1100rms each. Wanted to know what amp I should put on these babies?

I want to put both in a single box and play them mono? Where should my ports be? On the same side as the face of the sub or doesnt that matter?

Do I need more than one port, or just one beeen one?

K, those babies r dual coil with a potential handling of 550 rms per coil.
And I have only heard good things about them.
btw I don't even want to know what u paid for those suckers...

My question is what box configuration you r going to use. A sealed system
for good sound or r you going for Spl and a ported, 4th or 6th order band pass system?

It don't really matter where the port/s is located as long as its at least its own diameter away from any of the drivers. But I would say to put them/it
where they look the best, or firing towards the cabin(listening space).
What volume were you looking at for the box / port/s ?

Amplification, well these have a very good sensitivity figure of 96.4 so
even mid powered amps (bridged 300 - 400 +) should drive them ok.
The more powerful the better. But get what you can afford, but I think you should at least get each driver its own amp.

They should sound awesome!

I know this is off the topic you were discussing, but it still involves car audio.

I'm looking to by a dvd-mp3 front-loading deck for my cab. Can these any of these card dvd players lay dvd-mp3 cd's? Can they play DVD-RW? How much more are they compared to mp3 cd decks.
